Well, I'd say I had luck with curcumin.
A few months ago I tried taking cholestyramine, and it was absolutely impossible, it caused such horrifying symptoms, I felt it would kill me.
This was after taking fish oil for a while as per Shoemaker protocol, but later I read that not every fish oil is the same, it may be oxidized and cause more harm than good.
Anyway, I started curcumin extract with black pepper, 4500mg a day, with meals. After maybe a month, I was able to slowly start cholestyramine again, really tiniest amounts every other day, or twice a week. I can now take a normal 4g dose daily, but I only take it once a day - I guess I could do more, but I don't want to because it's constipating (this comes from someone who's never constipated).
I cannot tell whether I am able to take cholestyramine because my mycotoxin levels dropped due to no exposure or solely because of curcumin, anyway I found it helpful, and am still taking it.
Zimica,
I had the same horrifying symptoms and thought I was going to die, too when I took cholestyramine. Glad you are able to take it now at a tolerable rate. I have not been able to get in a safe enough environment to be comfortable with the possibility of taking it again.
