Kind of a milestone today (technically Friday, when it happened). I had my appointment with my LLMD and we looked at my history and how all of my symptoms (except my headaches and neck stiffness) have gotten better to the point of almost being gone. I still have a bit of minor tingling, minor muscle twitches that only last a moment or two, that kind of stuff, but none of this has changed in many months and it's way better than it used to be. So my LLMD and I decided that the antibiotics have gotten me as far as they're going to, so I'm done on that front. He doesn't think my headaches are Lyme related after extensive consideration and going over my medical history, or at least not directly related.

My doctors and I are investigating other possible causes for my postural headaches (like a CSF leak causing hypotension). If all goes well I'll be able to get an epidural blood patch to fix the leak, if that's the problem, and then I'd be mostly back to normal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good results! In the meantime I'm going to be taking a couple herbs to protect against relapses: Cats Claw, Japanese Knotweed, and Lions Mane. I might add one more in there but for now that's my plan. Hopefully I'll be able to post an update in a few months saying my headaches have improved as well.

I wanted to post a bit of good news and hope everyone else's treatment is progressing well too!

I am on abx for one year and symptoms still the same. But rashes still appear while on abx. So even if there is no change in my symptoms, i still get the rashes. So i have no other choice than continue on abx

Great to hear Noah! So happy for you! I am also at a similar point as I finished my abx course for Bartonella last Tuesday and my LLMD told me to stop as well. However, she didn't talk about any maintenance herbal therapy and I have seen quite a few people here who have went on some form of maintenance herbal therapy to protect against relapse. Is that really necessary? If so, for how long is sufficient time to stay on them? Do these maintenance herbals cause herxes?

Again, very awesome to hear you are feeling better and done with abx. It definitely is a huge milestone!

I don't know if it's necessary but a bit of Cats Claw and Japanese Knotweed for a few months won't hurt, so I figured I may as well.

I am very happy for you, I understood u see Dr G in Boynton b, how long were u in treatment with him, would u recommend him?
I am really frustrated of feeling worst than before.
Thanks, and I hope y get better from your headaches, I suffered them for years and my menopause got rid of the strong ones; I get tension headaches every 3 days or so.

I like Dr. G! He's a nice guy, very thorough. He doesn't treat quite as aggressively as I've heard some Drs on here doing, but I like his approach. He prefers antibiotics with a couple herbs, but also will help you find and manage a good herbal protocol if you prefer that or if you can't handle antibiotics. He's pricey, but that's par for the course for LLMDs. I've been down there a handful of times in the past year but most of my appointments were via phonecall. I usually went to see him once every 4 months in person while I was on antibiotics.

Interesting! I have an appointment with my doctor Wednesday and I wanted to talk to him about getting off the ABX. It’s been 9 months and at this point all my remaining issues are medication side effects sad
I too only have stiff neck and migraines left, not sure if related to lyme. I’ve had migraines since I was a child so likely not.
Let me know if you figure out something that helps for the neck/head pain! Congratulations!

I treated for a little over a year, with a few months off the antibiotics in the middle. Good luck with the migraines, I hear those are the worst. I have a chronic tension headache. If everything turns out to be ok with my spine and that’s not the problem I’m probably going to try Botox injections. That’s the nuclear option for headaches abs migraines but a lot of people have good results from it and my neurologist does them at his practice. I’m hoping I don’t need to try it though.
