Hi everyone , hope everyone is doing well - just interested to hear what symptoms linger and linger for people and no matter what they try don’t seem to go - I have regained maybe 80-90% of my health but I still have some issues with sleep some mild neuro sensations and insomnia not as severe as before but every couple of weeks I have a sleepless night or nights , i still get very tired easily and can’t stay up late (past 10ish)I cant tolerate alcohol or sugar and I have pains in my left leg that never went away kind of like muscle pain after a work out - it radiates from my hip to my ankle and foot and sometimes my left arm and hand - apart from this and some hormonal issues I’m doing pretty good - I wonder if this is stuff I’m left with forever - if so I can deal with it compared to how I was a year ago I’m happy to have my life back.interested to hear from other people who are on the road to recovery !
The insomnia symptom sounds like Babesia to me!

A dominant Babesia infection also can affect certain areas of the wrists, hands, ankles and feet.
So yes, Babesia can causes athritis and inflammation around the wrists and ankles, that's where a lot of my inflammation was throughout the years of my own lyme disease, and until I tried drugs like coartem, primaquine, and dapraprim. These were the only drugs that really effectively targetted those areas in my body. However, I still get weird sensations in my wrists and ankles even when I treat with A-Bab and CSA formula.
My personal opinion is you obviously have Babesia reading the symptoms you mentioned!
And I'll tell you this from my own experience, until I started really treating Babesia heavily with drugs like coartem, primaquine, artesunate, and Daraprim.... A lot of these symptoms stayed dormant! After treating with these drugs I started to get sweats sleeping, depression and anxiety feelings, along with massive shortnesses of breath.
So considering babesia has been shown to hide underneath biofilms just like borrelia, this may be why some symptoms are just so mild, and when you start treating with these drugs, actually eradicating some of the biofilms and parrasites, that Babesia starts to go haywire.
And I must say, it's too bad that the majority of LLMDs and patients go around just mentioning the Babesia symptoms shortness of breath and sweats. For some lyme patients that have babesia, yet have their spleen and a strong immune system, these symptoms might not be noticeable at all. These Lyme Literate Doctors need to be looking for other symptoms like insomnia, inflammation in wrists and ankles, brain/neurlogical symptoms, as well as anxiety and fear.
I mean just giving your body a test with a few antiparasitics like Flagyl or Alinia or Malarone will be enough to tell if you have Babesia, if your body responds to those drugs quite well, most likely you have Babesia. Have you tried any of these yet?
And you better be aware that not all LLMDs are qualified or even educated enough in handling the coinfection such as Babesia. As you'll read many Lyme patients that treat this coinfection for 6-12 months long, as it's a very hard to eradicate parasite.
I went to see the so called "best lyme literate doctor in Michigan," he knew I had Babesia after responding to Flagyl, Malarone, and Zithromax. But the guy made the wrong assumption thinking that the parasite was eradicated within just 2-3 months time. 6 years later and I'm still treating this parasite along with borrelia.
Yale just released a studying last year stating how most antiparasitic drugs fail against Babesia, so this is what you're up against.
