Ivermectin for Bart?

Hi all .... my first post!

But before I jump in, I first want to say a big thank you to everyone. I've been reading off and on for the last couple of years (yes, I'm a stalker ) you guys are collectively awesome. You have lifted me, answered my unasked questions, sparked ideas and kept me company during some pretty dark and trying times. So for that, from the heart, I sincerely thank you.

I was recently prescribed Ivermectin for Bartonella (I have Lyme+Bart+??) The protocol is 3 pills the first week, 4 the 2nd, 5 the 3rd etc. until I reach 13 pills or about 9 weeks. I think that this is a Mozayeni protocol but can only find any references to Ivermectin with using it in treating Lyme. Even at that there is limited information so I have no idea what I am in for. The one side effect that is scary for me is vision changes - I have enough challenge with that with the Bart so any experience or feedback regarding it at all would be helpful. I'm also currently on Rocephin IM 4 days on/3 off, A-Bart and am just starting Minocycline along with the Ivermectin. Thank you ~

Yeah, I haven't heard of ivermectin for bart either. When I was on it it hit my babesia/protozoal infection super hard.

after the riffy zith one 2 , zhang hh2 and allicin was most benificial . iver may put it on pause but alinia definitely hits . got to maintainence status with rife .

I email with someone who is a patient of Dr. M (bart doc) and he was on Rifampin and biaxin and then Rifabutin and biaxin.

Not heard of Ivermectin being prescribed for bart.

I am alright. Moved over to Dr J in WA DC last October. Was one dapsone 3 days a month at 50mg and had a flare up in the connective tissue in my palms and heels in May. Still feel it today. Trying to figure out how to resolve it. Totally stopped dapsone since I figured it was some sort of herx mixed with autoimmunity since I am allergic to bactrim.

I am very leary of disulfiram due to the sulfur component, but I am watching it closely. People are getting good results, but may not work for me due to the reactions with dap and bactrim. Called a pharmacist and asked them about potential reactions and they said to proceed with caution.

Currently on a new Dr J protocol while trying some other things out. Doing a niacin and infrared sauna detox as well. Pretty interesting.

It sounds like you are being treated at PFM in Cali? That is what they told me as well. I never heard of besides from Dr H's PA at the clinic. I wonder if it is one of Dr. M's older bart treatments. Can anyone chime in who is a patient of the bart doctor, Dr. M? What are his current protocols?

You are exactly spot on about PFM and Dr. H's PA, I was so surprised when I read your post! I am holding her to task and have asked her for info/links/research since my googling and resources have not turned up anything. I'll update with what I learn. I started taking it last week and let her know that as well. So did you do this protocol? Small world, are you on the west coast? My gut tells me that this maybe isn't Dr. M's most current work as well, I have a friend who takes her son to him and she'd not heard of it either and they have been seeing him for quite a while.

I took valproate instead of disulfiram. It contains no sulfur. However, it does have a similar risk of causing a severe herx due to its slow elimination and tendency to accumulate. Also, valproate may inhibit folate metabolism, although not as strongly as dapsone or bactrim.

AFAIK, Dr J in DC does not prescribe either valproate or disulfiram, but I guess you could ask.

Quin - Could you show me a link to valproate's usefulness in lyme / bart? I would like to research it. Thanks for the tip.

I use ivermectin, it did nothing for my bart, but i have herx babs on it.
Use about 4-5 weeks, every day.

I have not heard of ivermectin being used for bart.

My experience with that was that it did not kill the bartonella, but actually seemed to make the bacteria more active. That's okay if you pair it with something that can kill the active bacteria, such as minocycline, but I'd be careful using something like this alone against bart.

I've generally found beta-lactams not effective against bartonella, although I didn't try rocephin.

Thanks for the info - I'm taking a-bart and just began mino with the Ivermectin. One in the am/2 in the pm. Wish me luck, last time I tried I was dizzy as a loon.

The Rocephin is mainly for the Lyme but understand it can lend a hand with the bart as well. I just know my back side is sore

I'm doing Bart natural protocol and I been herxing like a *****.... I take Aida acuta, Japanese knotweed, Hawthorne, Chinese baikal skullcap, red root , houttuynia and cordyceps
