Hello everyone anyone have any experience with this drug?

I used it way back in 2013 with little results.

8/16/13 to 9/20/13: Minocycline, Bactrim DS, Alinia, Diflucan
5/23/13 to 8/15/13: Minocycline, Bactrim DS, Tindamax, Alinia

More recently since May 2017 its has been used with Terta, Diflucan, and Oil of Oregano in a 2 week Pulse regimen. starting 2 weeks ON then 2 weeks off, then going to 3 weeks OFF in August, and now trying 4 weeks OFF. Doing pretty good at 95% with some minor long term sx remaining.

Alinia is part of the Klinghardt parasitic protocol and is said to be effective across all three B's. Its very expensive and most insurance plans cover only a limited small amount of pills. The manufacturer has a great $10 copay coupon for the initial first script. Then you pay name brand co-pay rates for refills.

I'm staying with it for a while longer as long as it is partially covered and I can afford it to clean up some remaining Bart and possible Lyme persister issues.

I've done two short rounds of Alinia. It definitely hit my bart the first time (head pressure and vertigo increased a lot). It was rough on my stomach, though. Whether that had anything to do with parasites or just my reaction to the drug, I don't know. I wasn't having any issues that would have suggested a problem with parasites.

I took it when I was on Dr J’s Persister/bart protocol.

I took it 5 days in a row each month.

I never felt anything good or bad

i pulsed it for a year or so . at first the neuroherx was pretty emo bad - like i shoulda had a rubber room and a str8 jacket kinda herx ...it acts on helminith proto and giardia and bart and even viruses . better than tamiflu in studies . start slow and titrate up. i use it when i get a cold or flu to nip it quik . the yellow gold" may have some aluminum but compounded wasnt cheap. if someone has lupus like syndrome alinia maybe could be a wonder drug . its kinda newish in the pharma world but time will tell it definitely played a part in my treatment.

HI bluelyme- Im curious did you also have Giardia like me? and if so do does it keep returning for you?

Im asking because Im convinced Ive never been fully cured of Giardia or that Im somehow reexposing myself to it. Im concerned that perhaps it hides within the biofilms of the lyme and Im never fully rid of it.

My Alinia was compounded - maybe it wasn’t as good quality.

LLMD MR (Seattle) mentioned in his online treatment “book” that ours (Canada) wasn’t as good.

ya giardia was one of my 9 detrimental infections...and it was a toughie . it does hide in folds of intestinal track reaking havoc . i was gunna clear lining with pepsin and glycerin per old cleanse . but plasma rife , neem , oil of oregano and mimosa pudica as well as black seed oil may have all been helpful. allicin and artminsin and cryptolepsis may have helped as much as alinia. fwiw the cafl list only has 3 frequencies so it falls pretty fast with plasma rife.

I took for awhile a few years ago and am on it again now. A few years ago I would get really bad stomach aches after 3 days of taking it. I think I had a large parasitic load at the time. Now I don’t get the stomach aches but mental/neuro herxes like bluelyme said. Makes you feel awful mentally! After a few months, still am only able to take it once a day and for 3-4 days at a time before the herx hits. I then take a day off and go another 3-4 days. The only meds that have reduced my pain somewhat has been Clindamycin and Alinia. I think Babesia is my worst infection and both meds hit it. Definitely saw parasites come out on Alinia. Not as bad anymore. Gonna try taking it twice s day soon.
