Positive on 41 band only

Hi guys
I was on here a few months ago when my suspected Lyme did not respond to the standard doxycycline treatment. Since then I've seen a LLMD who is convinced my symptoms (waking up one morning with migrating muscle pain and twitching three weeks after hiking and seeing multiple ticks on me) is Lyme.

Well, I just got the blood test back and the only positive band was the 41 KD (IGG) BAND. I also tested low on VEGF factor and high (over 7000) on TGF-b1. Otherwise everything was normal. Is this indicative of Lyme? From what I read online it seems this is actually a negative test!!!

My symptoms wax and wane these days. With some days almost normal and other days debilitating fatigue. The intense muscle pain has subsided but I have ongoing aches and teh twitching is reduced but ebbs and flows. I thought that was gone for good after a week without but it resumed a few days ago, albeit not as intense. I'm currently back on doxy after a short break to give my bowels a chance to recover.

1 band positive is still a positive.

A negative doesn't mean you don't have it. Lyme or any other co-infection - especially knowing all co testing have notoriously bad false neg rates.

Go by symptoms - that's the true litmus test.

Interesting you say this - I tested positive on WB for band 23 and 39 and the infectious disease specialist I have been trying to see (he specializes in tick borne disease supposedly) feels I do not have Lyme's but is pushing rheumatology for fibromyalgia (they think I had that about 10yrs ago but never tested otherwise). I have sever joint/muscle pain all over, very stiff neck, had to drop most exercising and am sucking down motrin just to function day to day. My primary tested for celiac, RA, schleroderma, - negative; c-reactive (came back high but she wasn't concerned); and coinfections babesia/ehrlichia negative. Wondering about retests or additional...CDC includes your band 41 as a signature for Lymes....

Thanks. The consenus does seem to be that a positive on the 41 band means *something.* Has anyone else had low on VEGF factor and high (over 7000) on TGF-b1. That seems somewhat suggestive of mold toxicity but I never had any issues prior to my July manifestation of Lyme symptoms which occurred pretty much overnight.

I also was positive only for Band 41. Had low VEGF and high TGFB-1. I have CIRS from mold exposure. I also had a DNA Connexions test after the Labcorp Western Blot, which was positive for borrelia and ehrlichia. I believe most of my symptoms are from mold and bartonella (which I did not test positive for.

You need to look into identifying the mold exposure. Mold is often hidden. survivingmold.com and biotoxinjourney.com are reliable sources of information on mold.
