Anaplasmosis

In doing some searching I came across this tick borne disease.. I was amazed that I had never heard of it and I have seen no posts on this board reguarding it. So anybody been diagnosed with it besides David Letterman?  

Part of the reason that you haven't heard about it is that it used to be considered as another form of Ehrlichia. Anaplasmosis was known as “human granulocytic ehrlichiosis”, or HGE. Then researchers discovered that there were differences between three of the bacteria and the rest of the Ehrlichia 'tribe'. Welcome to our forum! I'm so sorry to hear that you have one of the dreaded tick-borne infections! Is Anaplasmosis the only tick-borne infection that you have? Are you seeing a Lyme-literate medical doctor?

If you haven't already, it would be beneficial for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of relevant information, symptom lists and informative links that have been put together by our members here! Most of those who have read through it have said that it was very helpful!!

We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts. We must be our own health advocates now and the best thing to arm yourself with is knowledge about our infections and the different ways to treat them!

Hi,

Not sure if this post is still going, I have Anaplasmosis and that was the only thing I tested positive for. My symptoms are a bit mad and I’m on treatment of Doxycycline.

How long ago did you get symptoms?
Did you have a known tick bite?

Not sure if you know this but if you have one tickborne infection - it’s highly unlikely that’s all you have.

Testing comes with high false negatives.
What lab did your tests? Was it a lab that specializes in tickborne disease testing?

Yup - I see that...and I posted about the Anaplasmosis treatment.
