I was terrified when I had to take the swab because I had to do it myself. I watched youtube videos repeatedly. Now I think it's the best way as you can do it very slowly, at your own pace not hurting yourself. It's not pleasant, but it's alright. I imagine if some heavy handed nurse did it it could be a much more traumatic experience.
For me it turned out to be an important test, because it revealed the presence of e coli in my sinuses, which I never suspected as people mostly talk about marcons. I took antibiotics for that and finally got a relief from some symptoms that had dragged on for months. There are though different tests I think, including marcons, e coli, fungi in the sinuses, I remember my llnd recommended this one that comprised all of these and was quite expensive (sending the sample from the UK to the US via UK lab £380=was about $500).
As for MARCoNS, in a better health guy's interview dr NN stated that it is no longer being treated...
