If you have autoimmunity and neuropathy you probably have small fiber neuropathy. This isnt a guess, autoimmunity often leads to SFN, and if youre having neuropathy and you have an autoimmune disease I'd put hte odds of this being autoimmune SFN >70%. This is NOT something to mess around with, and if its gotten to that point antibiotics alone wont cure it. You need to see a neurologist immediately.
All that being said, maybe you have looked into all this already. Just wanted to get that info out in case you hadnt. If youve looked into SFN, did they do a biopsy? Describe your autoimmune diseases and symptoms?
Thank you for reply!
I saw a neurologist just under 6 months ago. I did needle testing for muscle weakness, and aslo electromyography (EMG). I was told that this was for neuropathy. The tests I did were ok, but not sure how accurate the EMG test is.
I have no muscle weakness and all my joints and bodyparts functions well, it's just a lot of pains. Specially in my legs, sometimes forearms. Burning, tingling, sometimes stabbing and needles/pins kind of feeling.
It does not resolve, but gets a lot better with any kind of excercise. Worst is sitting and lying down. I also recall it getting a lot worse when i started JK and Cat's Claw some time ago so I did stop it.
I just found this btw: "Small fibers travel too slow and their conduction responses cannot be captured by nerve conduction study/EMG which is a routine test performed to evaluate for large sensory and motor nerve fibers. Therefore, skin biopsy is used to evaluate small sensory nerve fibers in the skin."
So I need to ask for a biopsy to diagnose SFN? In case it shows up positive, how do they usually treat it?
Some of the Buhner herbs is supposed to be great for neuropathy, right?
