Doc, who is not an LLMD, is willing to do a joint aspiration to run tests for Lyme, which I think is open-minded of him. Has anyone ever had this done? What tests were run on the joint fluid? How did results compare to other tests?

I haven't had it done...but I've read that it isn't always accurate. So a negative may be a false negative. But a positive - is positive.

It was suggested to me a rheumatologist could do it and the test should be PCR.

Yes i believe it would be pcr - which means if there isn’t any DNA of the bacteria in the sample drawn - it will be negative - but that sample just might not have any in it.

Yes this is a rheumatologist. He said he’ll do PCR and also a western blot on the joint fluid, which I had never heard of. We shall see what happens.
