Infusions?

I was just wondering if anyone has ever had immunologlobin (IG) infusions for their lyme? I have had lyme for about 9 years and have been treated extensively but about a year ago it started to go into overdrive neurologically and I am now a real mess.

Went back to my original lyme doctor and he put me back on abx but they didn’t do a darn thing....now this neurologist is recommending these IG infusions to bolster my immune system.

Seems like they are real expensive and I am worried that my medicaid will not cover it.

What does everyone think? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

I'm on it. Its darn near impossible to get approved for. I have small fiber neuropathy, basically the same thing as CIDP and AIDP which insurance will approve it for. But they use a technicality to try to deny the full dose (small fiber is now considered a separate disease and therefore more studies are needed, yada yada). so they only approve me "experimentally", which means i dont get the full dose my neurologist wants and i have to prove its helping, which it is, but its hard to prove that.

In the denial letter they sent me for a dose increase, they said its only indicated for demylinating diseases (MS, AIDP, CIDP and a few others), CVID, Stiff Person syndrome, and a couple of blood disorders.

I'm not tryign to be a d***, but it kind of ticks me off that every LLMD is lying to get their clients on this stuff. Its expensive and there's a real shortage and the benefits from what I've heard talking to a couple people who have Lyme and are using it for that are second order, and those who really need this stuff like me are having trouble getting it for that reason.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

I qualify to use it with Dx of Hypogammaglobulinemia (Shot IgG), but It would still cost me a lot.

Even so, the timing is bad: Some kids with Primary Immunodeficiency syndrome will probably need IVIG to live through corona virus outbreak.

For killing lyme there are many herbal combinations and several types of antibiotics, but how about the new Disulfiram? Or low pressure/dive chamber? Bee stings?
