So far Quinine and hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) have been used to combat CODIV.

***Are these two related? EDIT: Yes, I looked it up, hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) is a synthetic near copy of the natural Quinine. ***

Both have been used for Malaria and Babesiosis.

I remember using Hylands Leg Cramps in the past which has Quinine in it from Cinchona tree bark . FDA says not to use that for leg cramps due to : side effects including deafness, low blood platelets (form clotting), and an irregular heartbeat- increases bleeding

So apparently Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) helps zinc get into cells which will block the reproduction and cell hi-jacking of COVID. So the natural version, Quinine, should too.

My last "pondering" is I wonder how/why Zinc lozenges successfully combat common colds with out any Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil)?

source please. where are you taken these numbers from? Also please note that we are experiencing an explosion in cases worldwide, they grew by a lot in last few weeks. people take 2-3 weeks to die of this. so.... many people that got sick in last two weeks will die later.

Dividing current deaths to current infected during exponential growth will give u a false lower death rate and false sense of security.

I'm really disheartened about all of the negative talk and doubters, especially on a forum for Lyme and the chronically ill. We're told daily that we're overreacting about things. That illness and disease cannot spread as much as we say, or cases cannot be as high as we think. That most people could never ever have health issues like us, we're "others". Isolated for years or lifetimes with little care, no job, or money. We've also learned from experience that infections don't always stop affecting you just because you've eradicated the infection. Sometimes there are longterm consequences.

Also, regardless of how low or high the infection rate and death rate is, we have a responsibility as humans to care about the suffering of others. As many of us have learned, death is not necessarily the worst thing that can happen to you. As someone who lives in California and is taking this very seriously without freaking out, have some respect for this disease and the rest of the world's population. We also live in a country with advanced medical care in which not all countries have. It is our duty to decrease the spread worldwide for everyone. It's not anyone's place to tell someone they need to sacrifice their family member because someone doesn't think this is serious enough. And to ignore the damage that could occur if we didn't take things seriously enough. These numbers, regardless of which are accurate, are as "low" as they are because people have quarantined and been locked down for days to weeks. It will be better controlled because people have taken it seriously, not because it's not a serious virus. Respect nature, we are not greater than it. Be prepared, don't over panic, respect others. This isn't just about any one person.

The scientists barely know the details to this virus, so it's ridiculous for any person to act confident enough that they know how this will all turn out. As someone with a heavy science background, many people are missing the points to how this is different. And it's not just about the illness, but the medical resources available and the people sacrificing to keep sick people alive. This is a once in a lifetime thing. Something that happens maybe once a century.

I'm extremely disheartened to see some people responding as nonchalant as they are. As someone who doesn't support Trump, or politics, if he's taking it seriously enough maybe you should too. You think he's really willing to sacrifice capital for anything, yeah right.

Just remember how many people downplay tick-borne diseases. Don't join the people who doubt us everyday. I am one person and I will do my best to protect myself and others. (Albeit easier since I'm already housebound.) It takes us all to make that commitment. It makes me sad to find that even on this forum we have to stand up for why disease and infection isn't something to take lightly.

All is not lost. There are many reports on the net, and info here, that they have found zinc kills corona, stops replication. Trick is getting it in the cells. There are two posts on healing well lyme describing this.

like lyme, the top scientists (govmt) are not the ones discovering this- so its not officially reported. the " little guys" found it from several countries so its confirmed.

When will they try the Plaquenil to treat this?

There are those responding selfishly on the other side as well, however... not concerned about the risk to their own health, they are still trying to treat this as business as usual, encouraging further transmission of the virus throughout the community/world.

JB is just writing this incorrectly. last night I looked up the official numbers given for the world total cases diagnosed and total deaths reprted, and using those, the death rate is 4 percent (4.2 to be more exact). .04 equals 4 percent. Saying .04 percent means 4 hundredths of a percent.

Just a heads up. China is back to normal more or less.... Yes there are new cases but they are exponentially lower than they had been at it's peak and it's the trend as far as things go.

Anyone who's concerned, I have just found out that Houttuynia does wonders against SARS

By the way i have with me a 500g tea bag of houttuynia leaf with me, but the bag says expiry date 12/2019.

Is the expiry date real for teas or the sellers put the expiry just to sell more? Curious. If not i have to discard it right?

I would use it. Even antibiotics can be used after expiry date.
