Yes. I can never get my Ferritin up. My dr. said it should be around 90, but I have never been able to get it over 52. When it gets down around 20 I have all the symptoms of anemia (chewing ice, sore tongue, hair falling out, exhausted, cold all the time), and this is despite supplementing.
I've also read that just 3 heavy periods can make you iron deficient.
I also thought quitting dairy and gluten for a year would have helped my iron by now, but it's still low.
