I was on disufiram from Dec 20 to April 15 stopped due to getting extreme depresion and anxiety now I was feeling air hunger and my lab results show I have low carbon dioxide could babesia cause that? I do have a doctor's appointment to go over my results on Monday

I don't know if low carbon dioxide would be related to babesia. I think the air hunger typically associated with babesia is from autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

Had you ever experienced the air hunger prior to DSF treatment?

I'm currently tapering off of DSF myself, and I've also been experiencing air hunger, but it seems different from what I used to experience. It's hard to explain.. it feels like lung exhaustion, with tightness. I don't really have trouble taking a full deep breath like I used to though.

How would you describe what you're feeling?

I just did a quick search in the DSF Fbook group and I didn't see anyone mention 'low carbon dioxide'

I have had slightly higher bicarbonate - a few times when I was on the Bartonella/persister's protocol.

How is it related to carbon dioxide, I wonder?

Iv been having air hunger since last Saturday and on Monday my llmd ran some test on me and it came back with low carbon dioxide being one of them and no I had never had it before I've been off of disufiram for over a month

It could be several things, but maybe you have a carbonic anhydrase issue. I would increase my zinc levels.
