Anyone try memantine for Lyme?

I was prescribed memantine by my LLMD for severe, severe memory loss (both short term and long term). I'm a bit nervous to take it, and there's no reviews from people who have Lyme (I also have bartonella/babesia). Can anyone provide some insight?

Memantine is a bit of an unorthodox choice but not necessarily a bad one.
It makes sense for Lyme in my opinion.

In terms of side effects, you might notice being a bit dissociated at high doses (or at lower doses if you're really sensitive). Some fatigue might also happen.

On the plus side, it can also help with OCD if you are suffering from that.

It is used for people with Alzheimer, not for Lyme, do you have Alzheimer? BE aware that memory loss could bem a side effect of another med you take, benzos, ssri and a ton of meds cause memory loss. Plus memantine stays to much time on the blood, it stays for 60 to 100 hours até a time with only one pill. If your memory loss is bad like forgetting were you live or the names of your relatives, like happens on Alzheimer, but do you have Alzheimer? Or perhaps the llmd diagnosed you based on your history? Always look for a second opinion just to be safe.
