It sounds like hospitalizations for Covid in US are declining across the board. Deaths lag, so they could be up a bit now.

NJ and NY may already have immunity when you consider T-cells. The other states may be very close to it.

New Zealand has had a few new cases pop up just in last day or two. Looks like they're shutting down a bit more.

Shut downs cause a lot of horrible, long term damage and take lives as well.

I'm sure some other countries are using HCQ protocol but there are also other excellent treatments like the asthma medicine. One US doctor said that countries like Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan (and perhaps more Asian countries) are detecting early and using an asthma medicine for treatment.

FlatERF -the gold standard test for every drug is an RCT. Without RCT's its just anecdotes and rumors

Every RCT done on HCQ and covid shows it has either no effect or actually makes them worse. I have posted every single one in this thread.

Saying "all my patients who used HCQ got better!" is disengenuous since well over 99% recover anyway.

CWL: Dr. Todaro makes some good points, I just wonder if he's overstating the significance of some of the studies he cites. The studies show "cross-reactivity" and "T cell recognition" of sars-cov-2, but we don't know if or how much this prevents infection.. it seems like a stretch to characterize all of it as "T cell immunity".

One of the studies says that "40-60% of unexposed individuals had T cell recognition of SARS-CoV-2".. Here in his Twitter thread, Dr Todaro assumes 50% have "crossover immunity":

"Adding the 50% who already had T cell immunity from common cold viruses to the newly infected 10-20% equals about 60-70% immunity." (which is the common estimate for herd immunity)

...This is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure it's enough to validate the assumption that, if 50% have a T cell response they are "T cell immune".

He goes on to speculate: "Lockdowns & mask ordinances (mostly coming after the peak) likely had little effect, with the exception of perhaps prolonging the spread."

It estimates 10-20% threshold for herd immunity WITH "protective containment strategies". So maybe it's more of a combination of T-cell immunity and the "lockdowns & mask ordinances" that get us there.

So those are my only qualms. I'm happy to hear more positive views like this though- I want to live more normally as well.. just trying to be prudent. At the very least, all of these studies suggest that a high percentage of vaccination among populations won't be necessary to reach herd immunity. So if mandatory vaccinations were ever on the table, maybe now they can be taken off.

In the article below, there are quotes from epidemiologists opining on some of the studies Dr Todaro referenced. Btw Dr Todaro was an ophthalmologist (eye doctor) when he was still practicing medicine, so this is not necessarily his field of expertise.
