Help me with my test results

My dr says I am negative for Lyme.
Here are my results

Lyme western blot: IGG and IGM for band 41 (Index 142)
Lyme ELISA: Negative (index 0.16)
Mycoplasma pneumonia: IGG positive 1.64
Bartonella: IGM index 0.06, IGG index 0.59 (negative)
B afzelii: IGG Positive p30 and p41
B garinii: IGG positive 41

For b garinii and afzelii it states: low intensity detection of non species specific bands

Does this mean I have Lyme or what? So confused .

FWIW I had an erthema migrans (late june) and have done 4 weeks of antibiotics .... still have lingering pain in a couple joints.

If you had a bullseye rash, that’s Lyme. You will need to see a Lyme specialist (LLMD).

It was a solid expanding rash. No bullseye. Got treated when I started to Have low fevers and joint pains.

Currently seeing my functional medicine dr.

negative tests results do not demonstrate a patient has cleared Lyme

there are a large number of reasons for this that would take some time to go into - but the bottom line is your Dr should be aware of this - and the fact that he doesn't seem to be means you need a new LLMD - as WBF pointed out.

You had a fever, a rash and joint pains -
Plus you’re positive for mycoplasma pneumoniae... which is a coinfection of lyme.


Go to a LLMD for evaluation - don’t let this go for many months as it will only get harder to treat

I would continue treatment to see if you can get rid of existing pain.

You can get m pneum without a tick bite btw. It’s also known as walking pneum - a contagious respiratory infection. Not saying ticks can’t carry it, but having exposure to it does not necessarily mean it came from tick bite.

Currently my functional med doc calls herself LLMD and knows me for a long time which makes me reluctant to switch. However she did treat me based on symptoms and even when my first test was negative she encouraged treatment. I did doxy for 3 weeks, had a massive herx, took 10 days off, then started a new RX antibiotic and herbal antibiotic which i am currently pulsing. I believe she will continue to treat me as long as I am symptomatic.. however
I have thought of consulting someone else ...just not sure who.

Without getting into the reasons for frequent false negative test results, you have positive bands for three types of Borrelia, plus a common co-infection, an angry bite, and symptoms. A Lyme-literate doctor would treat you for tick-borne disease. This is not controversial or nebulous group of test results for a Lyme-literate doctor. You need to continue treatment until symptoms are gone for at least a few weeks. This is still a new infection, so proper treatment has a good chance of being successful.
