Chest tightening with Cryptoleptis?

Hi all, has anyone else experienced chest tightening when first starting Cryptoleptis? Even with just 1 drop I'm getting a strong and scary sensation of chest tightening with it. I saw an old thread here where a couple of people experienced the same thing at first and said that it went away after a week or two.

I only took crypto briefly, and it’s been a couple of years. Cryptolepis is in the babesia protocol, and babesia causes air hunger or shortness of breath. It sounds like it could be a herx.

It could also be an allergic reaction. Sometimes it’s hard to determine in relation to certain symptoms.

Was air hunger, chest tightness, shortness of breath, or other breathing or chest symptoms part of your symptom picture before you started cryptolepis?

Did you test positive for babesia or have other common symptoms of babesia, such as night sweats?

I never tested for babesia so I'm not sure. I did test positive for Lyme so I just assumed I have some co-infections as well.

I never had air hunger or chest pain before I started the cryptoleptis but I do have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome so allergic reactions and anaphalaxis is very familiar to me.

I took crypto 2 yrs ago and idk I than happned to me possibly. I'll be starting I again this week. If u pop some benadryl and the feeling subsides that's one way to tell if you're allergic or having a herx it's worked for me.

I also have mcas and anaphylaxis even to all types of food and environmental things. I didn't come BK positive for babesia bt I've always had air hunger chest pains before the crypto. The tight chest felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest feeling pressure a d also felt kind of anxiety or panic if that's what u are trying to describe as tight chest. Babesia is almost impossible to show on a test unless it's in the beginning.it invades the red blood cells and hides

I also have MCAD and can't tolerate anything that kills bacteria, disrupts biofilm or boosts the immune system. Whenever I take anything to treat, one of my symptoms is chest pressure....yes, like an elephant on my chest. I also get rages, depression, insomnia, eye irritation and tight muscles. I found your comment Medical Nerd about taking benadryl interesting. I just thought it was herxing so I will have to try the benadryl to see if that stops it. So can you treat by taking benadryl to offset the chest tightness? I have tried antihistamines but nothing really helps. I also take ketotifen which doesn't stop reactions.

I just googled this because I took the tiniest piece of cryptolepis and omg sweating and it feels like I need an ekg.
I’m on atovaquone azithromyacin and ciproflaxin I never had chest pain with any.
So clearly it’s not a herx? Or they would have caused it.
It’s also RIGHT away like the second I eat the tiniest piece of this root

Ciprofloxin comes with some risks
If you have “long qt” you might want to change your antibiotic.
Have you been tested for “long qt” ?
