No idea. All you can do is try it and see what happens.
I had allergy tests done about
a year before Lyme symptoms started and tested positive for 1/4 -1/3 of everything on there. I went because I had had an anaphylactic type reaction supposedly to shellfish. Somehow. I escaped from that allergist for the time being and ended up being sent back to him again when my Lyme symptoms started.
At that point, he prescribed an abx, Xyzal, Singulair, and a couple of other antihistamines. I finished the abx and Xyzal and quit everything else within 2 weeks. I reported back to him that I had the same symptoms with or without the drugs. Since many of them caused side effects for me, I quit them.
Two years later, I was tested by another allergist and only tested positive for shellfish. I did not trust the doctor or the results. He did the tests after I had talked to him about
my experience with the previous allergist, who he didn’t like. To this day, I suspect he rigged those tests somehow. He even put on my chart that I had “anxiety disorder.”
Several more years later after my immune system went bonkers following a respiratory infection, I went back. That time, I saw the PA and had testing. This time, I reacted to literally everything including the saline control. They told me it was dermatographia and the results were invalid. I had blood tests done following that, and they were all negative.
I had allergy blood tests done at least 3 times - when my Lyme symptoms first started, I insisted an allergy testing again. The results were I tested positive to almost everything on the skin test. However, I brought some things from home to be tested. Cinnamon was one. It was also part of the doctor’s panel. I reacted to the doctor’s cinnamon but not the one from home. That wasn’t the only inconsistency, either. So, he did blood tests on some things, and it was virtually negative - even to shellfish, which supposedly caused my anaphylactic reaction the year before.
Years before all this, I asked my ENT why I had sinus infections. He sent me for allergy tests - only the blood tests - all negative.
In my case, I think I simply have a very dysfunctional immune system and probably MCAS to a greater degree than I realize.
Most people with allergies to grass, trees, etc typically have itching, sneezing, sinus problems, stuffy nose, etc., don’t they? Do you have any symptoms like that?
If you don’t have any typical allergy symptoms and the treatment doesn’t help (ir even if it does), you might want to get the food sensitivity testing that astroman talks about
. Your symptoms could be MCAS, in which case MCAS treatments might help. Those usually include various antihistamines and quercetin, luteolin, and some other Rx. It seems to be trial and error finding the treatments that help, as they vary by person. Low histamine diet helps a lot of people.
