Just started Methylene Blue for Bartonella

Just began Methylene Blue for Bartonella, in conjunction with Crypto-Plus.

2 months ago I was on Rifabutin and Clarithromycin and was dangerously ill, my WBCs were very low, along with platelets and high liver enzymes.

I am curious how ppl did on Methylene Blue? I had to go through a compounding pharmacy to get it.

Yup I had low wbc count plus raised liver enzymes for a while on Rifampin/Rifabutin.

I was worried when my regular Dr saw my labs - but she said temporarily low wbc isn’t dangerous and my slightly raised liver enzymes weren’t anything to be concerned about.

Your liver enzymes and wbc count should bounce back quite quickly as mine did.

I was put on clotrimazole and methylene blue together for my air hunger....I did the combo for two months. I just can't say if it helped or not. It did permanently stain my toilet blue. :/

For some reason I thought methylene blue was for babesia, could be totally wrong though. It broke down my biofilm and jacked my bp so high then crashed it when it wore off I’d have timers to track exactly how long till it wore off snd skip my midodrine before starting, I used to know exactly how much time it took to kick in and wear off. It was a very stressful experience and I ultimately couldn’t keep up with it. Sometimes I wonder if I should have tried harder. We were having various other issues going on then too (problems with the Medicaid aides breaking everything in the house and being a walking health hazard, like refusing to wash her hands after handling something dirty then going straight to touching my food).

that sounds awful , what did u switch to after the methylene blue? When your blood pressure goes out of whack it doesnt feel good at all.My blood pressure was severely low all the time not high bt felt I was dying

Did the compounding pharmacy require a prescription? On Amazon there are reviews by people taking the general lab MB, which I would rather not do. I am very curious about it.

I've been on MB and azithromycin for about 3 months, but only 25mg twice a day. Just switched to 50mg twice a day MB and added clotrimazole 20mg twice a day. So far still no change or herx. Plus cryptolepsis and J/K.

And I got the MB through a compounding pharmacy which my insurance will not cover for some reason, and it's not cheap I think it was around 100 for a 30 day supply

I didn’t replace it with anything. I had stayed on all my normal meds during it (omnicef, mycobutin, bactrim artemisia cryptolepis and clindamycin at that time). So I just dropped it and stayed on all my other meds

the other route is to have the supply tested independently

I had severely low wbc and felt like I was on my death bed near death laying in the er hospital bed doing all tests in the book. Nobody knew I had lyme, bart etc at the time even with negative tests. I could barely talk or open my eyes that's how ill I was. When I started abx and didn't like I had lyme , bart etc. , it gave me such bad herxing, liver issues with no known cause and felt I was going to die. I can't imagine how I'd feel on Methylene blue. My llmd says the younger crowd usually does well on the meth Blue as it's something newer for treatments but idk.

I am taking Methylene Blue in almond oil filler 50 mg from Rockridge pharmacy every night and I am having diarrhea and bloating and tiredness is that a normal Herx. I took it 3 days. Does it go away after few days? I am scared about it.

Thanks Garzie. the Herx isn't so bad just wanted to know if its normal to Herx from it diarrhea and bloating and tiredness and does it go away after time ? also is it good if its in almond oil , that's what they use as a filler.

Thanks Quin for you info. so its normal to get bloating and diarrhea from methylene blue if its killing bartonella? i do have bartonella as well. . but the question is is will it become better? and is it a normal Herx ?

yep - herx can be any symptom - but bart infects the gut so gut symptoms during herx are not uncommon
tiredness is very common

methylene blue is water soluble - so does not need to be in oil - unless its a liposomal formula - used to increase absorption and is then normally given as a kind of emulsion - either in liquid form ( would be very messy with MB as its a very strong blue dye) or as a liquid encapsulated in gel caps or similar.
but i dont see any problem with it being in an edible oil as such

herx will normally subside in a week or so at any given dose - the more severe the herx the longer it can take to settle down. everyone is different in this respect too - some people experience v little herx - some are bed bound by it from even small doses

just go at a rate you can manage
