What to do re: getting vaccinated?

I’m currently suffering terrible POTS symptoms as result of a Lyme flare that kicked up in 2019. As such I’m unvaccinated for Covid. Irregardless of all the controversy, I think it’s wise to vaccinate, however, I have a previous history of being harmed by vaccines.

With current flare would it be unwise to vaccinate? My LLMD wanted me to prior to this devolving into POTS. My PCP said she honestly couldn’t say either way, and encouraged me to wait.

there have been a couple of posts on thsi topic before - one of which quoted a poll on another site

the general consensus as i remember - was that for teh majority of lyme sufferers it was fine - possbly a bit more of a reaction than most but nothing unmanageable.

a minority did have lasting symptom flares though.

this phenomenon is poorly understood - but i think it rational to suppose its due to some kind of abnormal reaction in the immune system of those effected

following this logic - if you are already experiencing a flare in symptoms - it is probably reasonable to suppose that you will be at higher risk of having some kind of adverse reaction than if your symptoms are well controlled.

therefore - unless you know you will be at a high risk of infection with COVID - eg due to your work - and might therefore opt to take the elevated though still small risk of adverse vaccine reaction over the likely more severe outcomes of COVID infection - it might be worth holding off until you symptoms are more under control.

I finally felt like I was making progress and decided it was probably now or never.

I flared hard for a week or so but it seems to be calmed down. I also believe I had Covid in Jan and flared hard as well, didn’t return to baseline for like 3 weeks.

Fortunately I am not alone with the mask wearing.
Even tho our Health Officer said we can now be amongst small groups of people without masks and even put on public … I still wore mine grocery shopping today.
Everyone in there had a mask on

I have recently registered for the vax. I can now get it anytime.
Son is relentless with his pursuading.

I also will need to vax prior to crossing the border to go to the Jemsek Clinic.
Haven’t been there since 2019 so it’s time for an inperson appt.

I just had my phone appt a couple days ago.
Next one will be 9- 12 months from now. He’s urging me to travel for an in-person appt then.
