Ivermectin Reaction and dosing

I'm on my seventh 3/4 weekly dosing of Ivermectin, and have met some problems.

• The first dose brought a tangible rush of well-being. I had energy and stamina I hadn't had in quite a while.
  
• But the second dose brought a brief, but deep, drain-down of my mental energy at dawn the next day.
  
• That was repeated with the third dose, but its effect was tapering out.
  
• Subsequent doses brought new problems. I had bad brain symptoms - headache, discomfort, inability to concentrate.
  
• The last dose, this Monday, brought back severe lower back pain and bad brain pain. General Babs symptoms such as sleeplessness and night sweats (never a lot, but there), also recurred. I stopped all killer herbs yesterday, and the brain pain is now gone. But what has taken its place is strong heart flutterings. So I restarted the three main Lyme herbs again this morning, at a low dose.

I thought a 3/4 dose would be a safe ramp-up, but apparently not. I am going to reduce the dose of Ivermectin to 1/4 the standard dose. It my case that is one notch on the plunger, which amounts to 4.5 mg of the drug. There well could be other things going on here beside IVM, but at this point I have to target the most obvious source of the problem.

I have to say, WBF, that is a Grade A witticism. A little humor helps us deal with difficult things.

The idea of rotating anthelmintics is very good. I have some P-P and some fenbendazole. Perhaps I'll add them to a temporarily reduced regimen of IVM.

Girlie, it has been a rough ride, indeed. But I'm perhaps not the typical case. Whatever I have, I've got bad. No matter what new thing I do, it brings on herxes. Even 'earthing' - walking my cat barefoot on the grass for half an hour, starts building up a reaction in me that in time will become intolerable. And Magnesium, which normally does so much good and does not have a downside (as long as it's not in a laxative form), quickly affects me adversely when I begin to go 100-200 mg per day over my 800 normal. So I shouldn't be surprised that IVM is having this effect on me. I'm going to stick with it, but at the reduced dosage, working up over time.

Everything I've read about IVM re: Covid says it is pretty much a wonder drug. It is good for prophylaxis, for early covid, and with other drugs, for late covid. Personally, the $olution$ for Covid that Big Medicine has advanced worry me far more than any IVM reaction. The brutal censorship against drugs such as IVM and hydroxychloroquine, which have decades of proven effectiveness and safety, has cost much life and suffering, in my view is for nefarious and highly criminal reasons, and greatly alarms me at the precarious state of our society and our freedoms. Please don't let my weird situation scare you unduly.

Just to give you some idea of other variables when trying to figure out ivermectin. Ivermectin breaks down biofilm, so sometimes it can kill parasites but also let bugs out that need to be killed. The other thing is that it has a vey long half life (18 hours) so it can lead to rather long reactions and effects.

i think Girlie posted that her LLMD says its normally very well tolerated - unless people have lots of parasites or biofilm in the gut - so i guess that's a possible

i have been taking it at the once a week dosage regime for about 6 weeks now and can say i have only had the mildest of symptoms from it

one or two headaches that were just a bit more than my normal baseline
sometimes extra thirsty after i take it
occasionally looser stools the day after taking it

thats about it

hopefully it will calm down for you soon on the lower dose

So the reluctance to treat covid with ivermectin is basically just fear of herxing from ivermectin hitting something else.

When I got covid, I took atovaquone (mepron) and that worked fine. I didn't need a high dose, one spoonful (750 mg) per day was enough. Atovaquone does hit borrelia somewhat, so I did herx a little from that, but it wasn't any more than what I normally get from treating Lyme, so it wasn't a problem.

Nitazoxanide is another option for treating covid but that's a pretty broad-spectrum antiparasitic and it's likely to hit a lot of the same things as ivermectin and cause a herx.

Fluvoxamine has been used to treat covid, so that might be an option if you can tolerate the SSRI effect.

My most recent trial of Ivermectin was a strong herx from first dose or two (only taking like 6mg-12mg once a week) and then subsequent irritation or herxes (hard to tell and the subsequent herxes didn't seem as beneficial). I did that for at least a few weeks, maybe had a break at one point, but then quit. I guess I didn't think it was doing too much and had other things I could take that I felt were more beneficial at the time.

I may consider it again in the future and would most likely use it if I contracted Covid and thought it necessary.

Didn't I see where Dr. SP said that people who herxed strongly with Ivermectin may have a high pathogen load? Like he tried it once and couldn't tolerate it but then it only helped him later in treatment?

The symptoms you described sound like it’s hitting something in the brain and/or the bloodstream rather than something in the gut.

Does anyone know or remember what happens to pathogenic debris in the bloodstream? Where does it go? How does it exit the body?

I am thinking that working on lymphatics might help - lymphatic drainage massage (see Heather Wibbels, LMT YouTube channel) and/or rebounding or jumping on a trampoline. If you don’t have one, maybe a kid in the neighborhood will let you use theirs 15-30 minutes a day☺️.

Maybe some of those enzymes could help with junk in the bloodstream - lumbrokinase, nattokinase, serrapeptase.

TUDCA Plus has helped me more than anything else for detox.

Mimosa pudica might help remove biofilm and any parasite die off in the gut. It’s sticky and grabs the junk and pulls it out. I feel sure it also kills worms either directly or indirectly. It works great for ropeworm removal.

most of the microbial and cellular debris / toxins and stuff our immune system finds is agglutinated in the blood and carried off to the liver for detoxification - or routed via the lymphatic system via various lymph nodes which do some purification and filtering and eventually return the lymph to the blood where again it is filtered by the liver - the liver is a marvellous and complex organ producing something like 3000 enzymes.

One of the livers main jobs is to make toxins water soluble so they can be released back into the blood circulation and then processed by the kidneys and excreted in the urine
the oil soluble waste products tend to be excreted by the liver via an alternate route, into the bile which is secreted into the gut and further detoxified by microbes - some is past in the faeces - some is re-absorbed.

Make sure you are moving your bowels exceptionally well. Multiple BM’s a day is best. Natural Calm magnesium powder is what I am dependent on. Also, when I know I am killing stuff, especially parasites, I will occasionally drink a cup of senna leaf tea at night in addition to my regular magnesium. I do this especially if I feel inflammation in my intestines. I feel much better when I do this. Just be sure to keep up electrolytes.

Binders can help keep toxins from getting recirculated in the hepatic loop.

That back pain could be from intestinal parasites. Ropeworm caused a LOT of lower back pain for me. I didn’t realize that’s what it was from until after I treated ropeworm for a long time. I thought the back pain was from sleeping on an air mattress.

Paul by heart flutterings do you mean palpitations? How bad was it and how long did the ordeal last? Do you think you've got tiny nematodes inside the heart that suddenly went crazy when exposed to the iver or was it more like an electrolyte imbalance inside the heart caused by the iver?

@Babesia, I don't know if they're palpitations, per se. The heart rate doesn't seem to be affected. The sensation is more superficial than that. It feels like a leaf fluttering in the wind. It feels electrical, and generally it is occurs with tingling in the chest area, and is a more extreme manifestation of that. It definitely feels serious when it is at its worst.

Whether there are nematodes at work there or not, I don't know. But I had numbness and then tingling in my lower legs. Then it began to work its way up, finally to the chest. So I suspect it's an electrical problem.

When I first began to get this tingling in the heart, several months ago, I relieved them virtually entirely by adding magnesium to my regimen. My legs had started cramping badly, and the Mg took care of that very nicely also.

@JMF84, I do use Mg Glycinate as my normal Mg supplement. I believe it has the highest uptake. I am adding the Oxide to that regimen in order to attain a small laxative effect.
