I can't believe I accidently gave DD 10 mls of sida acuta with crypto instead ofc10ml hormonal from herbalist. I immediately gave her charcoal half a teaspoon in water. Will that get rid of it from her system? DD was on only 2.5mls.

Advice needed urgently

I would have her continue to drink water for the next few hours
Flush it out.
Also some activated charcoal again a couple hours
I don’t think she will be harmed by the Sida and crypto

I have done the same! I have accidentally given my dd too many crypto drops instead of sida and houttunyia. I have to say the herx was awful and lasted days. I felt terrible about it but we just dealt w it as best we could with extra binders etc, exactly what you’re doing.
My dd has only worked up to 4 drops of crypto over months and months. I had given her an extra 4 drops but she is super sensitive to it.
Hopefully your dd will not experience too much of a herx and I just wanted to encourage you that I have been there and know what you feel. So sorry!

i wouldn't worry too much - the worst that can happen is a stronger herx like reaction than normal

and generally i find with a lot of herbs - its kind of the cumulative dose that makes the difference more than a single dose - at least with things that you are already taking a reasonable quantity of ( some people here react v v strongly to taking things for the first time due to super sensitivity) - but if your dd is already able to take 2.5ml a day this should not be the case.

it could well cause some extra herx but if you stop dosing for a couple of days - the overall dose over that time will not be significantly higher than normal - and any flare in symptoms should only last a few days

i have mixed up my own tinctures several times - so easily done when you are doing them late or early or have a foggy head - i have now colour coded the labels on the bottles as a visual cue to help me differentiate easily

in any case what is done is done - and so just focus on what you can do going forward - as above drink lots of fluids, maybe epsom baths and generally rest up etc

Thanks for your replies and support. There is just so much yo manage in this sea of lyme and co infections. Ye, are so right. It can be easily done. That was awful on you Blakelysmum but TG ye got through it. I hope you are right Garzie re my DD. She is very sensitive to herbs. I am hoping that the fact she took charcoal straight after I realised the mistake that it has mopped it up and I took Girlies advice and gave DD more charcoal 2 hrs later. Will let ye know thanks so much.

Blakeleysmum, can I ask you re crypto. My DD was on combined sida acuta and crypto but then herbalist separated them individually i.e. 2.5mls of crypto and 2.5mls of sida acuta and cycled them 3 days one then 3 days the other..Dd got cramps and threw up on crypto. Herbslist said to try a different herb but would it be better to pull back again like to 1.25mls which would have been in the original mix as it was OK when DD was taking the mix. DD has bartonells, bsbesia, mycoplasma, rittesia.DD taking sida acuta 2.5mls, cats claw and Japanese knotwood and Chinese skullcap in a capsule. She just started blackwallnut 3 drops. She has alot of neuro problems.

I almost thought I was dying off of 1 drop of sida acuta .keep detoxing epsom salt bath immediately. Any herx?? And I've almost mixed up things like this it haooend often your not an idiot and you're not the only one who's done this lol

How is your dd today?

We have been working up on sida and crypto for seriously prob close to a year. An increase of one drop makes a herx for Blakeley. We are finally up to 7 drops of sida and 4 of crypto. I can’t imagine how sick it would make my dd to take a mL of it. In my experience for my daughter, it is very strong. Could you try just going up drop by drop and find her tolerance to start with? It may just have been too much to begin with.

Hi Medicalnerd and Blakleysmum,

DD still herxing but managing. Have stopped herbs except support herbs for past 2 nights. Detoxing with charcoal and the epsom salt foot baths - thanks Medicalnerd. Will take your,advice Blakleysmum in starting off again with just a drop as that awful chronic fatigue is ongoing with treatment and other neuro symptoms heightened too with it.
