If you've looked at my last post you'd see I am Covid negative however my family and I are questioning if I have Seretonin Syndrome.

I've had high pulse rate almost a month now, more bodybaches, fatigue. Last night my " 2 day" migraine came back, I was sweating (soaked my sheets last night in an a/c room), had the chills, it hurt to even raise my arm to wash my hair this morning. My temperature keeps climbing, now an even 100 degrees. My skin burns and my throat is sore.

I really do not know where to go from here. My psych NPs office is closed for the evening. I really do not want to go to an ER or Urgent care center. Also my LLMDs office is closed for the week, I don't even think she'd be much help anyway.

How accurate are Seretonin blood levels to check for toxicity? That may very well be the only way to know.

Along with going back on Zoloft after taking the Methylene Blue I started taking L-Theanine and Taurine less than a week ago to help my GABA, hmmmm could that have done something?

I would suggest a trip to urgent care at a minimum. Perhaps the ER. The tests are accurate. If your not taking medications that cause it to go up and it is high you should mention a carciniod syndrome. Most doctors dont even know what it is. Diarrhea and flushing are the top two symptoms for high serotonin. A fever usually does not come with it. The sweating is more of a flush on your face not a whole body sweat. I had a tumor removed that could have produced serotonin and the first questions I get asked are about flushing and diarrhea.

How long has it been since you switched antidepressant meds? It takes me a week to adjust to them during which I usually feel terrible.

The blood pressure and sweating seems like typical detox, or maybe babesia.

Skin rash and sore throat could be long covid.

When the delta variant started spreading, I got sick again, despite having gotten over covid a year ago. However, it wasn't like the typical long covid, it came on very fast, I was fine and then got real sick in about 24 hours.

If you think you have long covid, it might be worth trying the usual covid treatments (atovaquone, ivermectin, nitazoxanide) or switching the zoloft for a sigma-1 agonist (fluvoxamine).

Sunflower1920 - I had a lot of the same symptoms that you are listing along with bad diarrhea from taking Rifabutin and MB. Awful body aches, chills and a sore throat as well. My feeling is that the MB resulted in a some sort of neuro toxicity.

I was only on them for 9 days when it hit me like a ton of bricks and I also had a 100 degree fever. I've been off them for 5-6 days now and it seems to be improving but I am still soaking through my sheets every single night.

Hi Brian,

I've been off the MB over a month so I don't know if it's safe to say if it caused all this ( maybe the mental symptoms absolutely) but the physical ones I am thinking actually this is my EBV reactivating. I am no stranger to this as are many Lyme patients *sighs*

I absolutely noticed a lot of mental symptoms when I stopped the MB. I believe it stimulates the brain and makes you feel more jovial. Makes sense that when you stop it your body has to now produce those hormones itself.

Yes it's plausible. I weened off the Zoloft to go on MB, stopped the MB then reinstated the Zoloft 2 weeks later....not good....receipe for disaster I know.

Hi Daisies,
Well the worst is over. Very scary. Nobody was of help. I had to followup with my PCP because i was in urgent care. I told her about the Seretonin Syndrome or possibly reactivation of my EBV...all signs and symptoms ( regarding EBV) this has happened multiple times and she wanted nothing to do with it. Said I had Covid. She was even betting her medical license I had it...wow she's a risk taker.

Ok great well how can that be? I was given the green light to return to work by employee health. Nobody in my department is sick. Nobody in my family is sick and I live with someone unvaccinated and other over the age of 60 with underlying conditions....ALL fine. So no I'm not gonna accept the covid diagnosis. She was so inclined to tell me I had Covid then maybe she should have encouraged me to continue to quarantine? alert my family and coworkers to do the same? None of that.I work in a hospital and she knows that. Hey I take Covid seriously but guess what? There are other diseases out there!

Oh and last week when I went to see her last week for a separate followup, she denied my Lyme, said I has chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromalacia. Nice huh? These doctors are fixated on what suits them better and what looks good for CDC surveillance. And yes she is older so that makes even more sense. They do not want want look outside the box.

She even said EBV tests aren't reliable. I had upper left quad pain too....thats your spleen...EBV wrecks havd on it...she didn't want to hear it.

Nice huh?

So my now *former* PCP put in my medical record I had covid. I never tested positive. What she did was unethical and illegal. I tested negative twice on my sickess days.

I called the office and told them I am terminating my care ( kept the conversation professional and clean). If it's not amended from my medical record I will be taking further action and I told them this.

A friend said to check my insurance statement sometime next week, if it says I was Covid + I can go after the doctor for fraud....I'm not playing. If a patient is positive a doctor or hospital gets extra reimbursement.

What are they gonna do in a few short months when cold and flu season is upon us？Every cough and sniffle is Covid?

Right well if she bills it to my insurance I will be going after her for fraud. I was told you need a Covid + patient to get extra reimbursement, I never tested positive.

I think the reimbursement comes only when patient is uninsured.

Nope it doesn't matter. Insurance Cos give hospitals and doctors extra $ when a patient is positive.

If a patient has Covid a hospital or physician gets extra $ from insurance companies. You need proof a patient tested positive, because if you dont well then that's fraud. You can't just say patient had covid unless there's a positive test. There are plenty other diseases out there with similar symptoms. If I was healthy and didn't have lyme or EBV I'd let it go. However this same doctor is the one that didn't bother testing me for EBV reactivation, and denied my Lyme...said I had chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromalacia. I have a problem with mainstream doctors as it is. Now a lot even bigger one when they exaggerate my diagnosis to get more money. Do you understand now what I am saying？

Sorry - I understand you're upset and I'm not intending to make you any more upset. I'm just not so sure that your former doc was incentivised to diagnose you w covid.

...and the covid diagnosis may actually benefit you in the future with regard to treatment options. Long covid can strongly resemble EBV.. reactivation of EBV may even be a cause/component of some long covid cases. I'm thinking it might be better not to have the diagnosis removed.

Again I understand you have a history w this doc. I'm not defending her

No all these docs care about is Covid that's it. What's gonna come in a few short months when cold and flu season is upon us? Every cough and sniffle is Covid? No it won't benefit me in the long run. I'm not getting better only worse. I don't see myself making it to my 40s. I'm suffering and nobody seems to care. Lyme patients lives never mattered and never will.
