Some of you may have read my post here a while ago about my first dose. I had really horrible side effects and was worried for some time afterwards. I felt weird for about two weeks afterwards. As you can imagine, I was dreading the second. I am happy to report that I had my second shot about 21/2 days ago (60 hours) and side effects have been minimal. Not even a headache. My arm was quite sore and I had about 12 hours of feeling slightly loopy, but today I am almost back to normal. The interim between my two shots was 7 weeks (1st: 07/07/second: 26/08)

Thanks for update. Just had my first. Feeling ok. Slightly nauseous but I always have something so hard to pin anything…

Thanks for the update.

That was like my first Moderna shot. Second is this coming Friday. So I don’t have to try to work the next day. Last time I needed the next day off work.

I just had my 2nd shot a few hours ago.

Man - what a different experience this time.
I have a phobia when it comes to needles - my first jab - the nurse was so nice - she was gentle - and talked with me about it and waited til I was ready and gently put it in.
Released it slowly. Hardly felt it.

This time the young man told me to push up my sleeve and he jabbed me and released the vax quickly - OUCH !!
And he didn’t even put a bandaid on it. Lol

Couple hours later and it still hurts!

Sorry to hear he gave you such a hard time. I hope your side effects haven't been too bad.

I don’t think the vax itself affected me- but more his delivery.

I got the J&J one-shot deal jab...against my better judgement as I had wanted to wait until the local health place had the Moderna or Pfizer available.

Now I'm thinking of getting the "booster" as I consider myself "immunocompromised" I don't know about you guys (if you consider yourself immunocompromised to be in the group that would need a booster or doctor advisory)...

Anyway MR says it's safe, so I'm vaccinated with the 1-shot JJ...(Johnson/Jannsen vaccine) but....

I read an article based on European studies that are ongoing "live human experiments" proly lol that mixing vaccines may provide that extra protection against hospitalization, death and other variants...

J&J is viral vector and Moderna is mRNA. Thinking of getting a Moderna topper just to be safe...

Anyhoo...that's my 2¢! maybe there is already a thread about "COVID-19 booster" I don't know!

If I'm not mistaken Angela Merkel herself mixed jabs: 1st AZ/2nd Moderna...on the advice of scientists.

I am getting very conflicting info!!

I also got the J&J on 3/8/21, I live in NH. I am immune compromised and have Dr M R in Washington State who told me to get a booster with one of the available MRNA's. However, because it has not been recommended and I had the J&J, no pharmacy or vaccine site will do it?? I am told I have to wait for J&J to recommend a booster.

Not sure what the answer is...maybe you can mix AZ and MRNA because both are a two-shot deal, but with J&J being a stand alone 1 shot, you cannot.

The article discusses the reasoning for mixing vaccinations, and the possible strengthening of immunity.

@Seb4 Smart money is on mixing vaccinations I would guess, if heads of state are doing it,

@sdarrah and maybe a doctor's note about being immunocompromised and in need of extra protection might be in order... yes conflicting information, you said it!

BUT

I have also heard that a J&J booster may be in the works and to wait for that I guess...

I have a feeling my mRNA has already been messed with, based on foggy recollections of research about how "smart" stealth pathogens really work...
(meaning: infected ticks have already "vaxxed" us with their smart-and-dirty-mRNA ™

maybe I'm reaching here...oh well

Having said that, people are already doing it (mixing vaccinations mrna/viral mrna1/mrna2 Moderna/Pfizer)...

I think people with money do whatever they want mostly, and "the poors" get what they get... sry for my cynical sad view but I've lived a few lol

My educated guess is that mixing vaccs= more strength/immunity.

But I could be wrong.

I had the impression that the J&J was the "janky" (read: cheap or shabby) one,

Moderna was the Cadillac,

and Pfizer was like an Acura or something I dunno...

correct me if I'm wrong!

Immuno compromised actually has a set of low immune cell labs that define it.

A shortcut to knowing this is if your CD57 or white blood cell count are low. If the sub class is under that are tested something down there is going to be low. I am low and knees and the sunglasses actually under range and some of them so technically I am immunocompromise and I fit into the disease definition yet I don’t get common cold.

It is odd how most limies don’t seem to get colds and things.

Just had my second Moderna shot last night I will agree with what’s been said the second is worse than the first by far. I only slept about four hours last night woke up feeling hot and achy drink some water went back to bed with the sheets off and the fan on me laid there till 10 AM this morning. Took some protein powder and aspirin. Every single body part that was sore in the past is sore this morning ha ha

My second shot symptoms took several days to resolve.
My arm was really sore - and a red patch around the spot.
I ended up taking 3 days off work.

For the record - my more extreme symptoms from the second dose (Fri evening) were almost exactly 48 hrs long. Sunday morning was not any better than Sat (sore all over / hot/cold/sweaty/ brain fog with slight headache), but it all wore off early Sunday evening.

EDIT: I was a little too positive here, not all was yet back to normal the next morning.

Hmm, note quite all normal yet upon waking this morning.

My back and hips are still somewhat abnormally sore, and I've done nothing physical. Hands move a little slow. And I sweated a little again last night in a cool 65 degrees. Still re-cooping it seems.

My brain / cognitive stuff seems to be back to what was normal before the vax.

One major additional symptom of vax #2 was wrist and ankle burning the day after, in addition to the aches. I was quite miserable. This could have been my autoimmune going a bit haywire, who knows.

The injection site actually felt better vs vax #1.

Glad to hear this. I had a bad reaction to my first shot too, symptoms lasted for 4-6 weeks. I’ve been too hesitant to get the second now.

Makes me think I should reconsider.

After a weekend of sitting/laying around recovering I started getting a return of sciatica NERVE PAIN / inflammation in the low back /hips / down my left hamstring along the nerve. Have not had this in years. My ankles and wrists only burned for about 1-1/2 days.

This does not just happen in "normality" when just laying around for days. Physical injury and inflammation of multiple cause are what causes it.

I am very familiar with muscle / tendon/ nerve pain and the differences in them. I'm unfortunately a "pain pro" from experiences past with tick infections , autoimmune and sports injuries all rolled together (I have not had recent exposure to either of these recently and my autoimmune has been under control).

Hoping this will pass soon with out long term damage/ set backs. My point is, I was not made aware of this possibility in the normal list of symptoms, this is not there, until you dig deeper.

I had no idea this can happen with autoimmune and covid vax, my Drs never mentioned it. Always "the risk is worth the opposite" line. OK but we should know this by being TOLD. This can really screw up someone with full blown Guillain Barre, but many autoimmune issues overlap and can have nerve issues. Many current and past Lymies have nerve issues. Nerve sheaths take a long time to grow back, not good to mess with them.

Not trying to freak out anyone, just understand this is a possibility. And plan for this possibility. I will post updates since some out there will want to know.

At this point, I dont think I'll get my "immunocompromised" third shot. Unless I'm 100% normal soon.
