Saw Palmetto for hair growth

hair loss comes up here now and then.

Ive used this for almost one year, and see some results. It supposedly has similar results the the hair Rx starting with and "F" (cant remember any spelling) but ive read that stuff has bad male side effects vs SP.

I had several months of stress about two years ago, which resulted in more than normal hair loss while showering for about six months. Then it tapered off but didnt really grow back. Ive had these cycles in the past, without much recovery. Thyroid levels also reflect this. I still have hair (and its not gray but should be), it just gets thinner. Was extremely thick in my younger days..almost to much.

Saw Palmetto One tab a day at 580mg. Most online info says twice that, so now im doubling to see if it gets even better. Self experiment.

I have long hair for a dude (think 1990's surfer/grunge lol), and was thinking of buzz cutting it, but i think i'll hold off and see what happens. If/when I ever get back into die hard camping mode again, I will get it way shorter or even buzz cut it (never did that) anyway for ez maintenance. That time is not now though.

Guys who look good with shaved heads...thats awesome from a guys perspective. Just need variety of seasonal hats for outside depending where you live.

I tried rogain in the past ...what a disappointing greasy, matted, looking mess that was. That can only be applied if your almost bald or have an actual buzz cut.

One more thing: Nizoral Shampoo is what ketoconazole is called. There's OTC strength and then there's prescription strength.

My husband has been taking saw palmetto for many years for his prostate.

He does have quite a bit of hair - he’s 60 now and really not losing much.

“Fábio”, ..haha! I’ve not heard that one in a while, and yes, I’ve heard it all. In person I usually have some pretty good witty comeback’s lol.

So far I’ve only used the cheaper but still respectable brand names such as solaray and natures way. Now Im taking two a day.

They both come in a more condensed extract or just regular (which I suppose you could say is just the whole plant ground up?). I’ve used both.

The extract cost almost twice as much as the regular so if you take twice as much of the regular, what’s the difference? That seems to be the way all the brands of SP are offered.

From what I’ve read it does work for the ladies too, but I would imagine it might not work quite as well. Worth googling.
