Electrolytes out of wack?

So I have incorporated dry sauna as part of my protocol. And I am currently doing the detox kit from Des Bio. What I have noticed is no matter how much water I drink...I am thirsty, my eyes are dry and itchy and have dark circles under them. And I have hand tremors on my right hand. I researched and "determined" that I have an electrolyte imbalance. I saw where we need 4700mg of potassium on a daily basis and MOST Americans are not getting that. I also read the lyme depletes us of potassium, magnesium etc...I cannot get an appt with an LLMD to confirm my suspicions, so I just found something called Ceralyte 50 and Dr Berg electrolyte powder. Started taking it and my symptoms have gotten MUCH better. Has anyone experienced this? Are hydration "sticks" a part of my daily life going forward? Am I just having a "flare"? Anyone else dealing with or dealt with electrolyte imbalance? Is this normal for lymies or is it all in my head?

In my experience, ive had all of this and it was not electrolyte imbalance when it was tested. But you dont know till its tested.

Calcium and potassium are an easy blood tests. Magnesium cannot be accuratly tested very well, the best is called red blood cell magnesium test.

Lyme and any co infections can off your endocrine system, in time most will heal, not always though:

Dark circles under eyes can be from adrenals.

Thirst can be from too high blood glucose (walmart test kit is under $30 for about 20 tries).

Hand tremors can be from adrenals also, I took propranolo specifically for this, it worked. Tremors can also be from low or high thyroid production.

AND- just herxing can contribute to all of this as its hard for your liver to do its job.

lyme/ bart seemed to throw my electrolytes out also

most notably both my partner would regularly get cramps in calves / feet almost daily - when we almost never did before

it seemed to be largely a sodium thing for us - more sea salt in our meals seemed to mostly prevent it
by 80-90% - 3 healthy sized pinches per meal - i suspect we are somehow losing too much sodium due to changes imposed by Lyme/ Bart

i wondered about porphyria - which seems to fit as an explanation - but seems hard to identify properly via testing

magnesium seemed to help a little when added on top of the salt and i added some extra potassium on the basis that i had upped the sodium - and all sources say that sodium and potassium needs to be in balance - and also increased my liquid intake to around 2- to 2.5litres per day - so now i rarely have an issue - but i do believe its still there underlying - as it sometimes still happens if i sweat a lot - eg day after a long hot bath or exercise.

A comp panel would cover electrolytes, except magnesium I believe, and would give you more information about kidneys, liver, blood glucose etc... But it may cost more, so atroman's way may be best.

When HPA axis is effected so is ADH/osmolality.

When ADH is low the body won't retain water and constantly feels dehydrated so you drink more, which further throws off osmolality.

I've found supplementing with electrolytes in my drink throughout the day or in a water bottle during that thirsty spell etc.. to be helpful. I found this to be much more helpful than say taking an electrolyte shot - it has to be mixed in a larger volume. This isn't a fix all but definitely a nice bandaid.
