LLMD Prescribed Ivermectin for Covid - Making Sense of Bad Reaction

I just got Covid last week, called my LLMD who had said to let her know if this happened. She put me on Ivermectin. Overall fairly mild case but I did lose my sense of taste and smell and had an increase in the disassociation which I have constantly, but no worse than happens when I get a bad cold. I started the ivermectin two days ago, no real change, yesterday I started getting additional light sensitivity, which spiked this morning - couldn't look at my computer screen, vision got slightly blurry. Went into a tailspin thinking I was getting long covid on top of the bart, lyme, mold and histamine stuff I've been dealing with for years. I called my doc, they told me this could be a side effect of ivermectin. I drank a bunch of water and now things seem to be improving somewhat. I'm going to stop the ivermectin as the last thing I need is anything else neurological going on.

Anyone have feelings on the prescribing of Ivermectin for Covid - was this irresponsible, given what else I have going on, or in general? Anyone have similar experiences? Or feelings on the drug for use with Covid? Could it have been a herx? I suspect I might have a babslo infection and just got a blood smear to investigate a couple weeks ago but don't have the results yet. The stuff I found online seemed to predictably follow the medical culture war fault lines we're all so familiar with. Just interested in others' experiences.

Must have been killing something off-we know it gets into the eye since its used for river blindness.
I used it for my covid and turned things around in a day-thats a universe of one..

Iver has zero effect on covid, all the best studies show it does nothing for it. If it helps you its likely because it eradicated an underlying parasitic infection you didn't even know you had and this allowed your body to they address the virus.

What's loa loa? Isn't that African slang for 'worm worm' ? lol.
What are these poor souls in Africa suffering from loa loa supposed to take instead of the ivermectin? Some Alinia perhaps? Or the Fenbendazole? They need to be pullin' out them big guns fo sho or is loa loa an incurable, terminal illness?

Ivermectin re:covid

•Statistically significant improvements are seen for mortality, ventilation, ICU admission, hospitalization, recovery, cases, and viral clearance. All remain significant after exclusions. 56 studies from 51 independent teams in 22 different countries show statistically significant improvements in isolation (38 primary outcome, 36 most serious outcome).
•Meta analysis using the most serious outcome shows 63% [52‑71%] and 83% [74‑89%] improvement for early treatment and prophylaxis, with similar results after exclusion based sensitivity analysis, for primary outcomes, for peer-reviewed studies, and for RCTs.
•Results are very robust — in worst case exclusion sensitivity analysis 56 of 89 studies must be excluded to avoid finding statistically significant efficacy.
•While many treatments have some level of efficacy, they do not replace vaccines and other measures to avoid infection. Only 24% of ivermectin studies show zero events in the treatment arm. Multiple treatments are typically used in combination, which may be significantly more effective.
•No treatment, vaccine, or intervention is 100% available and effective for all variants. All practical, effective, and safe means should be used. Denying the efficacy of treatments increases mortality, morbidity, collateral damage, and endemic risk.
•Over 20 countries have adopted ivermectin for COVID-19. The evidence base is much larger and has much lower conflict of interest than typically used to approve drugs.
•All data to reproduce this paper and sources are in the appendix. See [Bryant, Hariyanto, Kory, Lawrie, Nardelli] for other meta analyses with similar results confirming efficacy.

I tried ivermectin for covid. It seemed to have some benefit, but atovaquone worked far better, so I gave up on ivermectin.

It's not a question of whether ivermectin works or doesn't work, it's that there are better options for treating covid.

I didn't herx from ivermectin at all, so it doesn't seem to do anything to lyme or bart. If you are herxing from it, you probably have another infection.

I had Covid twice and I Have Babesia and weigh 250. On what dose of Ivermectin do I have to be?

I just took ivermectin for Covid.
I will get the dose I took and post it here later.

Dr J prescribed 12 mg per day

My caps were 1 mg each and I took 4 of them 3x day .
I think I took them for 5 days
