Garzie,
You may be reaching an accumulated amount of its medicinal compounds to be experiencing a sl herx and the sweating is a good thing, if a bit bothersome.
I try to reach the goal of 5 cups daily, but often resort to adding the tincture instead. It's an amazing herb for retro viruses and viral infections in general; the source for the highest level of the medicinal compounds we need is from the red type that grows in the Sardinian region of Italy. Dr K's sites sell the red, but I prefer the herb leaves from LindenBotanicals - and the owner is a nice guy that's in an FB group I'm also part of.
Cistus is like a tea that I've harvested by the 100# feed sack in local areas: Swamp tea aka Labrador leaf, the basis for Ledum Palasture, a homeo for Lyme. Like swamp tea, cistus requires 3 boilings to extract its full range of compoundsl the color and taste deepens with each boiling.
Try slowly upping your intake and you'll def feel it working.
It's also protective from Lyme & cos and makes us less of a target for the insect vectors and it weakens the spirocettes hitting the bloodstream with any bite. Non-scientific studies show its effectiveness in protecting dogs, vs dogs without any in their systems so, I pour leftovers in my hound's dish.
I like adding a bit of fresh spearmint from my patch and I sweeten it with honey or whole leaf, powdered stevia.
I haven't noted any increased sweating, but def feel the pull of fatigue with increasing daily consumption.
Cheers!
