Skin discoloration

Fellow Lymies.....need your thoughts


So I am treating Lyme with Des Bio. My LLMD has me on a lot of things in addition to DesBio. I am taking the following tinctures from Nutramedix: Burubr, Pinella and Parsley. I am taking the following tincture from Woodland Essence: Hawthorne Berry. I am taking NAC ( I think 900mg from Pure). I am taking Liposomal Glutathione. I am on blood pressure medications. I am taking 10000 IU of Vitamin D. I am taking K2 Mk7 supplement. I have added something for Hypothyrodism....I added this based on the fact that my head, scalp, eyes and behind my ears were itching, so I suspected my thyroid was having an issue. I am doing Epson salt, hydrogen peroxide, fresh ginger baths.

Why am I reaching out. I am starting to get light splotches on my face. They started on my hairline. It's almost as if I am peeling from getting a tan on my hairline. The splotches on face are new. I am thinking the only thing I am taking that I have not taken in the past is this Gaia Thyroid Support and this K2 MK7 supplement. But I added them because my scalp was so dry and itching like crazy. I have stopped itching...and the dryness is getting slightly better. But I don't want my skin discoloration to continue. Oh, I am also doing a bentonite clay mask on my face and hair. It "seems" to be working for my dry brittle hair. But something is not working! Any thoughts on what might be causing this? Everywhere I have read said going to a dermatologist is a waste of time. Is this just toxins coming out of my skin and hair...and my face has been targeted?

Over the years, I developed white blotches on my back and an area of lighter skin on one side of my face. The area on the one side of my face is hard for people to see, but my daughter notices it.

Doctor said (after biopsy) it’s not vitiligo, but no one can explain what it is. Areas on back won’t tan.

But, as astroman mentioned, it is not a peel. It’s like loss of pigment, yet biopsy did not indicate that.

Running wild, I have never had a biopsy for it I didn’t know there was one.

I was prescribed an antifungal cream to try out, which it did nothing. I would think if it was fungal it would also itch my vitiligo white areas are blotchy and they’ve never itched.

The skin itself where it’s lacking pigment in my case, almost seems thinner too and very smooth so the texture is different.

It’s on the underside of my chin which is hard to see so the whiskers, they are actually clear there not gray but clear. Everything else matches my hair color brown.It shows up on my knuckles in the summer since they don’t tan, and I have it on my back as well

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that bbailey423, all I know is that she used it for 5 days and it got better. Sorry, I wish I could help more.

Yes, T.V. is fungal and also looks a little different than vitiligo.

In T.V., the pigment can be slightly multiple shaded, whereas in vitiligo the lighter non-pigmented area is only one light shade.

Ketoconazole will not do anything for vitaligo, where as it cures T.V.

Nizoral shampoo has Ketoconazole in it.

As a kid I had tinea versicolor. Seems it was a little flaky on sin. Seems Selsium Blue and Nizoral were used? It was different than what I I have now. More like what astroman describes.

Astroman - I still have doubts about the negative biopsy for vitiligo.

as well as the fungal caurse of skin pigmentation issues - usually in that case causing a lack of pigment - hence white or paler patches

many tick born infections are also associated with more direct skin colour changes -
bartonella for instance causes a wide variety of skin pigment( and texture changes) - including both increased pigment and reduced pigment

i have both

i noticed that both my partner and i started developing new brown flat moles - scattered around our bodies but most noticeable on the torso - only after both of us becoming ill - she thought it was normal - but it is not - at least not to that degree - i had not developed any new moles since childhood - until becoming ill

i have also developed pale spots with missing pigment on my lower legs and forearms - here they are of similar size to the moles - typically these are 2-5mm circles - but can join up to form larger irregular shaped areas.
i have similar pattern on my upper back also

i have noticed people post pictures of similar things on the Facebook groups for bartonella - so that high on my list of suspicion for the cause.

( i should however highlight that i think bartonella is a cause of a large number of symptoms in many of us)
