Great way to start the New Year lol After about
6 years of treating Lyme, flares, and reactivated Epstein Barr, I just tested positive for Babesia. (I'm not sure if it is a new infection or if it was brought out by the case of covid I had in November; I've never tested positive for it before.)
I'm starting atovaquone and zithromycin. My llmd did explain that I would have to detox and would probably get worse before I get better. I'm just wondering what to look out for in a Babs herx and if any detox method helped more than others with Babs. She suggested alka gold, lemon water, glutathione, (activated charcoal if needed), and infrared sauna. It's pretty typical of what I did for Lyme detox. I don't want to assume that this is the same old territory and then get caught unprepared.
I really thought I was going into menopause, which is why I went to see her. I'm completely stunned with this news! How did I miss another tick-borne disease??
Thanks for any advice or suggestions.
