Does anyone think a HERTSMI score of 14 is too high for Lyme disease or CIRS?
Let me know as I’ve contemplated the
location

Yes. That’s too high. Shoemaker said below 10, but 10 was way too high for me.

The HERTSMI rubric says that 11-15 is considered borderline, so people with CIRS should clean the space (safely and thoroughly!!) and re-test. How did you feel in the space? Do you know if any past mold issue has been fixed (i.e. no more water-damaged building materials still in place, no carpet, no more leaks, dry basement, ongoing dehumidification, etc.)?
I know it's such a pain to find someplace without much mold, but it is possible to find a place without much of those top five most toxic molds included in the HERTSMI. I had a very old house with a wet basement and a very high ERMI score, with a HERSMI score of only 2. The mold species make a difference in how safe a space is, not just for folks with CIRS but for everyone.

I haven’t stayed in the place. It’s for my internship so that’s why I’m considering it. Thank you for your advice. It’s a work space so it looked cleaned recently and i just got dust from vents…
