Then I must have been getting the “deluxe” antibody test all these years with all the bells and whistles (with high accuracy). 🤔

yep - probably just depends on which machine they use

many of my thyroid tests - NHS and private - show the range this way

i guess its regarded as academic as the limit of detection is some way away from the bottom end of the normal range - but in my case with the ones that were elevated - and now showing <9 - its mildly disappointing to not be able to see if its actually 0 or 8..

Below looks OK for someone ON thyroid medication. She was still on t4 and t3, correct?

It very much resembles someone on both meds because the TSH is slightly low in range while the frees are near middle range, not high.

TSH 1.690 (.450-4.5)
T3 Free 3.0 (2-4.4)
T4 Free .98 (.82-1.77)

Reverse T3 17.5 (9.2-24.1) .....this improved, I think it was 24 once?

T3 104 (71-180) ......outdated test but still looks good.

As a few of us here discussed last week, this lab has weird ranges for antibodies. Perhaps they use older equipment. There is usually a more accurate single digit cut-off single numbered value for these, not a range.

So with this "range", looks like all is well but the Ta as you also noted. Its high, but not very much. Technically that is the early stage of Hashimoto. These can also fluctuate in the beginning. I would retest that one in a 3-6 months maybe.

i think the tests are fine though - lots of us have tests that have ranges stated like that - nothing to worry about

technically - the slightly high single thyroid antibody is an indication some form of auto-immunity is underway - but this can often be transient in various illnesses - eg viral illnesses or infections - and could even normalise once treated - esp in young people.

so again - good suggestion from astro, to monitor again in 3-6months

all auto-immunity seems to involve leaky gut to some degree - so it may help to do what you can for gut health in the meantime.
this may be tricky in a young person - and the main driver may be the infections - Lyme bart etc - which take time to treat - but anything you can do to reduce inflammation in the gut, eg remove obvious triggers like gluten or foods that cause reactions, improve sleep, reduce stress etc can all help the gut heal - which in turn can help switch auto-immunity back off

ACTH, Homocystine, 17-OH Progesterone LCMS were in normal range.

That's good news, as it would seem to rule out the most common genetic disorders affecting the adrenals. This suggests that the problem could resolve if you can get the infections under control.
