I have one of those “rubs massage” for feet. The best part is they don’t go shooting out and breaking windows like if you try to stand on a golf ball! After that ordeal I put some sandpaper to use on the golf ball so it wasn’t so slippery, problem solved. But the rubs ball is still better.
So even though 90% of the people here blame foot problems on Bartonella. I don’t believe that is always the case. The burning on the bottom of the feet in the morning when you get out of bed is what is called plantar fasciitis which can be caused by many things. Lyme disease too, not just Bartonella. And even general dysfunction of the legs above your foot because that’s where the muscles come from that actually control your foot.
Regardless of the cause, there is no need wait forever while treating Bartonella or lyme when (in addition) you can actually treat your feet. Massage the muscles and the tendons that control your feet or whatever muscle is hurting daily and you’ll feel better and you can actually use it instead of waiting forever to kill the infection. There are many videos on YouTube on how to do this. What is sometimes hard for people to grasp is that the muscles above your foot are probably what’s actually causing the foot discomfort.
Things to try : Standing on those foot massage balls mentioned above. You can massage your calves by putting one leg over your Opposite knee. There will probably will be tight painful areas. The sides of your calves also have tendons that control your feet. You can put lotion on these And massage those tendons by gliding a steel Butterknife handle up and on the sides rather quickly With some pressure. This duplicates the Graston technique, Increasing circulation. The action of that technique is trademarked with tools available to accomplish this. But a smooth butter knife handle works just fine.
If you have IT bands on the sides of your thighs those will also cause foot problems a firmer foam roller can help this. And since the foot nerves come out of your lower spine weaving through the Glute muscles down the sides your legs, Myofascial release of these muscles is possible by laying on the floor with a lacrosse ball between one glute at a time on the floor ,...finding troublesome And maybe even some slightly painful areas.
Just to reassure people -applying targeted hard pressure to a muscle area will not hurt you unless you actually ruptured a tendon or broke a bone. The way this works when you apply pressure and then let off - it basically creates a vacuum frawing new blood with new nutrients into the injured tight area which is what promotes healing. This is proven and works. It needs to be repeated daily to work though, but believe me, it does work.
And as far as orthotic support for your feet I do use them myself on occasion. But i use some that are firm yet still a little flexible. The doctor prescribed hard orthotics will never let you heal because you’re never flexing your actual arch; muscles and tendons only heal if you flex them (don’t overly flex them though until it is healed).
