Forgive me if you guys have already covered this topic... I've been very "absent" for over a month....
Have you seen the new AARP commercial about Health Insurance? I believe it is sponsored by AARP and/or DividedWeFail (the symbol is half an elephant and half a jack-ass).... anyway, the theme of the commercial is about people who HAVE health insurance and then got sick and wound up owing over $50,000.00... or having to file bankruptcy... or losing their houses, etc. The commercial is summed up in the end by "If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't do anything differently. I HAD health insurance. I thought I had GOOD health insurance."
The women who is telling her story appears to be a young looking woman in her early 30's, maybe late 20's describing how she had a great life, etc. and then got Lyme Disease. And now "I'm over $50,000.00 in debt."
I just think it is WONDERFUL that the message about Lyme Disease got out in such a prominant manner, during polital season when LOT'S of people are watching the stations this ad is being played on. And, they took it from a cost and insurance point of view... it just wasn't the disease itself being "showcased".... almost as if "Lyme disease" is becoming a more mainstream medical condition that the public "gets"... what they don't "get" is why the insurance companys are not paying for the medical treatment needed to fight and cure this disease.
I needed this lift.... it's a really well done ad.
Hope everyone is doing well. I hope to get back to some type of life soon. I am on day 3 of week 7 IV Rocephin.... as a matter of fact, I'm hooked up to the IV right now. I have to stay awake long enough to finish the routine!
