Hi Jennie, I take MSM to help my joint pain and it does seem to help some. It is said that foot baths or detox baths can help relieve the pain too. There are also some natural "rub-on" style creams that can help too, like Topricin. I think naturopaths may be good at suggesting these type of things to try, or ask a holistic chiropractor. Dr Jernigan's detox formulas seem to help some people reduce the pain from herxing/toxin buildup. Others use Dr Zhang's stuff. Hopefully, others will post here with specific suggestions. Best wishes to you. bablylmers mom

I had good luck with Nettles 1500mg/day (recommended by Stephen Harod Buhner in his book, "Healing Lyme")...started working within a couple days. I took it for a week and then couldn't swallow after that so couldn't take it any more...the pain relief from that week of taking the Nettles lasted a month after I stopped taking it.
The other thing that helps my hand joint pain is a homeopathic remedy called Causticum.
My husband also likes MSM for his joints (he has joint pain from long-term prednisone use) and says he notices a big difference when he forgets to take the MSM. He takes 6000mg/day.
I know some people use a combination of Glucosamine, Condroitin and MSM for joint pain.
I hope this helps - take care,
