I ordered the kit from Fry Labs to get my blood tested for Babesia and Bartonella. I am totally confused by the form, so I called Fry and they said I have to ask my doctor about
the difference between the tests. Well, one problem: my primary, who will be drawing the blood, knows nothing about
Lyme.
So, I wanted to ask you guys what tests I need to order. Thanks so much for your help!

You might want to look into clongen labs in Germantown, MD. Fry was the standard for a while but this lab appears to have a test that covers 15 species of babesia and 20 bartonella. They also do a smear like fry. There is a thread about
it.

Hi Phsinvent,
Thank you! I will look into Clongen Labs. I really didn't like the lady from Fry on the phone.

I had Fry do my blood smear and it came back with two diagnosis. I didnt realize they had "specific" tests, my primary told me he just sent the slide and they disagnose by what they see in the blood. (?) Does that sound right? D

Hi Dowa,
I'm not sure. The form I have says that I have to check off specific boxes. There are different tests for Babesia and Bartonella. There is also a PCR test for Babesia. I even said to the lady "just tell me what tests I need to order" and she said she couldn't.

Strange. My doctor sent the smear to them and first time they diagnosed Bartonella and we repeated it two months later and they diagnosed Ehrlichia. That was with the same test. Dont know why they told you to check boxes, they told me they just diagose by looking at the slide under a microscope. They couldnt however, explain the different diagnoses. More confusion huh?

Must have been 88342 as I got the pictures with it. It was still confusing to get two different results. Thanks-
