Please tell me, is it tipical Lyme symptom?  :

"I can't handle warm weather."

I really can't handle it. Last time I went totally numb, and I'm still numb.

I cant handle the cold weather. I know with me that I have autonomic de-regulation meaning that my body temp changes with the environment. You are probably unable to cool yourself down. Have you ever been told that you have that condition? IT is common with any kind of toxins. D

I am in the same boat. I also have Reynauds which can cause my fingers and toes to go completely numb and white. I'm convinced this symptom could be a part of what LD is. Also, during the first few years of LD, I could not stand cold, not even from an air-conditioner. I felt like the cold was stabbing through me like a knife. I'm a little better now, but I always wear a sweatjacket when I go out (how rare is that???) because I never know what the temperature will be at various places.

I also can't handle hot weather (and I live in FL).  I cannot stop sweating.  Even when I come back indoors, I continue to sweat for a few hours..... this disease sucks wind.

I can't handle heat and humidity either. Really makes me almost panic as well as irritable. For some the brain's ability to regulate body temperature and cooling does not function very well. Multiple sclerosis patients are an example of people who usually have great difficulty with heat. I remember I used to be able to run around in a t shirt in freezing weather. I was always hot. It is uncomfortable so I sympathize. Others prefer heat and seem to feel better - ie the hotter the better.

Do you have a low body temperature? Mine hovers around 97.4 degrees. I figure when it is hot that it makes me more sensitive. I also had both bartonella, babesia and neurological lyme, which affected my brain (again, its ability to regulate body cooling.)


Thyroid problems, blood glucose, being overweight, neurological disorders (including lyme) are some of the few things that can contribute to heat sensitivity. I seem to feel my best when it is a moderate temperature with low humidity. I also enjoyed the feeling of being numb - like when I would go swimming in Lake Michigan when it was pretty cold. It made me feel the pain less. I live in southeastern PA and we have hot and humid summers. When it is dry, breezy, and in the high 70's I call it a "Michigan day" - ahhhhh.

Hi, I noticed the subject of this thread and wanted to cash in too!  I also can't handle heat.  If the weather gets warmer than +18 Celcius or about 68F I just shut down.  I can't tolerate hot showers either.  I have luke warm at best showers.  I am always the one who doesn't have to layer my clothing in the winter.  I prefer the cold even though I have Raynauds.  It's so odd.....But that's Lupus and Fibromyalgia for ya.  Any autoimmune diseases or disorders seem to present this.
