Elisa was non reactive

I waited 7 weeks for test results only to find out the Elisa was non reactive! It's going to be very difficult to get treatment, my GP didn't think lyme was a possibility. I'm hoping that I can get an appointment with LLMD in my area and he'll recognize my symptoms and my picture of my bulls eye rash. I guess I'll have to get the Igenex test. I'm wondering if you guys had negative Elisa tests but were still diagnosed with lyme.

I've been getting random small intensly itchy bumps on my skin since the initial rash and I'm wondering if anyone else experiences this.

The ELISA is not reliable. Often the Western Blot will be positive when the ELISA is negative.

The Western Blot is not 100% either, but the bulls eye rash is.

How long ago was the rash?

I know how you feel. I had such a typical bulls eye rash and should have known what it was. I could kick myself now, but there is nothing I can do now about that. I do wish I had a picture or could get into my brain and take a picture the way I remember it.

The serology tests are really only good in the first year. After that, your immune system begins to get worn down and the antibody load decreases. After, like 3 months, it is considered "Late Lyme Disease".
