Hey guys just curious how many others are in this position? I really got serious about my Lyme treatment when I started to loose my vision. First it felt like something was in my right eye like sand or something and then it felt like something was in my left eye too!! This went on for weeks, went to the eye Dr and he said he could not see anything in them. The condition would improve after closing and resting my eyes for a few hours only to come back again. This went on for a few weeks and slowly it started to ease up. When I went to the eye exam they found that I had lost my 20/20 vision but they did not know why. One of the eye doctors actually suggested Lyme!! That's when I started getting serious about it. I still have some vision loss and now and then it starts feeling like there is something in my eyes again. Anyone else with this type of problem?

yes, me! I have this feeling of having sand in my eyes too; a am allergic to a hole bunch of things but I believe in a connection to lyme with at least some of this unpleasant feelings; when its bad somedays I have kind of white film on my eyes or in the corner of the eyes.
I know about a lot of lymies having those eye problems from the lyme support group here; I took an abx cream for 14 days to see if this gives me some significant relief - it did so; symptoms came slowly back, today it was really somehow not nice any more... so its funny coincidence you posted today. I use eyedrops to avoid the eyes get too dry; this gives me some relief when this sandy feeling gets too much.

There is a cheap abx eye drop that works on the lyme in your eyes.

Sulfacetamide Sodium Ophthalmic Solution 10%

It does wonders

have you already read KeepHope's post with the link? its said there that the eye is one of the protective niches of the spirochetes; you can be lucky with that eye - doc !! dorit

I don't know if I am a good role model but:

since lyme is a long lasting illness and the 7-10 usual rx isn't for us, I just use the drops on the days my eyes feel really gritty or like something is crawling in them. So, I don't take them consistently like most people with eye bacteria would. I don't even know if my doc would frown on this. I just know that it works well for me. I don't think these drops will kill all the lyme. I think the oral or IV abx will do that. The drops are what helps me to quickly deal with an overly large load of bacteria at that time.
