Hi there,

Well today i was told i tested positive for lyme, not quite sure how, as i live in florida.

I am terrified!!!!!! Is this fatal? Can it be treated? I have an apt with an infectious doc this week, and i dont even know what to ask them. What is the protocol? As well as the outcome?

Any help is appreciated

First off, welcome. Sorry the circumstances brought you here.

I am in Fla., and YES we do have Lyme here!

With good and proper treatment you can get well. You need to see a LLMD (Lyme Literate Doctor).

I see you are up there in florida, i am in south florida, i go to an infectious doc tomorrow, arent they able to treat it as well, and can antibodies of epstein barr make a lyme test positive, because my blood tested pos for that too!. Will i be feeling crappy forever?

relax, you are one smart person to have found out that you have lyme today. and really smart to have already found this web site. I mean you are fast! And smart! Man I wish that I knew you when I found my tick on my butt!
You will find out what works for you...and what does not on this forum! So don't sweat it. And if you start to feel sorry for yourself...hey we all do...go back and read everyone elses post and you will feel much better. This also works if you watch Jerry Springer..:>)
first off, where do you live in Florida? you can tap on me on the envelope to the left side. I live there too.
I also have some strong opinions about some of the Dr.s here in Fl.
I tested postive for epstien barr too. That is like a mono. No big deal. And frankly sort of silly to even tell you. It would like having your leg broken and the surgeon tells you, oh...and guess what? you have a blister here too....
I mean...common.
Different things work for different people.
I really think that everyone has come in contact with lyme at some point. It is just how your immune system can or cannot control it.

note...these tiny ticks love to live off of birds. so 10 billion birds migrate every year across the USA. Dr.s out there that can help you. But first thing that you need to do is stay calm and get yourself in a better frame of mind.
Your stress levels greatly effect your lyme. So....relax. You are in the right place to get the answers that you need to get better.
