Is this a new or old infection?

Hi, I am a new member to the message board.

I have been symptomatic with an unknown illness since March of 2006. My symptoms are very Lyme like in nature. All of my bloodwork always came back very normal with each test performed. In October of 2008 I was told I had a Lyme infection. My doctor believed that it was a new infection (IGG p39 and IGG p 41, positive ELISA and positve WESTERN BLOT). He put me on 3 weeks of amox. and said that I would not need further treatment. This doctor is not lyme literate. Is there a possibility that this has been in my system a while and has been causing my symptoms? Or is this definitely a new infection? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thanks

Hi, It sounds like it might be an old infection. I would suggest you find a LLMD ASAP and check it out further. 3 weeks of abx are not enough. Others here can help you find a LLMD. Just post. Just a hint you should put a topic line in your post you will get more responses that way.
