Well, I don't what what is true and what is not.  Darn, my skin biopsies from the rash I had way back then showed it was a spider bite that gave me lyme.  Strange huh?

So after doing research and asking questions, I found out the the "host" of the majority of lyme bacteria all come from the "White-footed Mouse"..   And that any blood-sucking vector that feeds on these mice contract the lyme bacteria.   It makes one think...  

If it really was a spider that infected me, I would tend to think that my spider (I think I'll call her SpiderEtte) must have trapped a tick or another bug that already had his morning breakfast from this "mouse" and acted like a vampire and ingested the blood thus giving SpiderEtte the lyme..   Around and around we go..

So I think any blood-sucking vector is capable...  Let's get rid of the White Footed Mouse!  smhair

Yes - I have heard and read about this too: mosquitos, horseflies, fleas; and also that about 10 % of infections might occur from those blood- suckers.
It makes some sense to me.

This is very interesting. I don't recall ever being bit by a tick but do recall one year in my early twenties when I was repeatedly bitten by mosquitos and even had to go to the ER one night because my eye swelled up so much. That one year it was as if I had an allergic reaction every time I was bit. In my early 30's during a trip to Turks & Caicos my lower legs were covered in bites after a few hours on the beach one night. I think the bites were from sand flies or sand fleas, not mosquitos.

If this is true then it's much harder for us to protect ourselves from being reinfected. Unbelievable!

It makes it impossible to protect yourself. Nothing stops all biting insects and covering yourself with toxins 24/7 has its own hazards.

Yes, it is all scaring! I personally think we must work and educate ourselves on strategies to live with all this - learn more about the diseases those insects might carry, their habits, try to find (loooooooooots of ) natural enemies to them and find out how to protect ourselves with natural stuff if ever possible and not with toxins (only).

Funny but true the vets around here are more open to all these and may I say: more educated even?!?

i also had bites all over my legs in aruba from sand flies in aruba 6 months prior to getting sick--dont know if connected

Yeah...we can get lyme and the other stuff from many different insects. But don't fret. Just get your body in the best shape that it can be...feritilize the soil of your body. It can put the bacteria in its place when it inters your system.

yeah. hezzer..me too. Could not understand why I got so so so ill this last sept. My daughter had a tick in her head..but I got totally coverd in mosquitos bites..badly.
And I was also on my whole...German's heavy abx protical..and man....it knocked me out. That was it.

Skin so soft can be bought on line by Avon. No deet in it. And since we are not going to all live in a bubble or give our dogs away...get your in top nutritional shape so that it can defend itself from all the little buggies out there.
Also vit. B1 the bugs hate that stuff in your blood.

my ex bf had a flea infestation in his house cause of is 3 cats and i would stay at his house all the time and i was the only only one getting bit by these fleas.....this was many years ago but i would scratch like crazy and get a rash..... i wonder if they gave my some infection or lyme cause i have always felt very achy in my bones and every dr i went to would say that my muscle and bones were fine..... i just dont remeber ever getting bitten my a tick...i find them on y clothes and a a few weeks latter i was sick.... but i also was bitten ao by moscitos that summer to (may 08)

Hi all,

As I posted on another thread, during my remission I found a tick attached inside my belly button and I didn't develop any symptoms whatsoever.

I really believe the best weapon against any blood-sucking vector is a strong immune system plus daily detoxing (even when you feel your best) as we live in such a toxic world.   Of course it doesn't hurt to protect oneself by wearing proper clothing if one is going into the woods (like I do and continue to do), or put some kind of repellant on your skin, hopefully a natural one that doesn't contain chemicals as they get absorbed into the skin.
