Question regarding blood test results?

I just got my blood work back and one thing was out of range. It states

EGFR NON AFR AMERICAN blood result was  53 L

Normal is >=60 mL min / 1.73m2

Does anyone know what this is for?

I should have found out when I was at the LD but he said it's all good. But then I took a copy and read it when I was home. And I noticed this was out of range.

This test is used to assess kidney function. For more info, check out http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/gfr/glance.html

Since your eGFR is very close to the normal range, the doctor may not have considered the result to be significant in your case - especially if you have normal creatinine level and no symptoms of kidney damage.
