After being on oral antibiotics for one month back in February, the pain and stiffness in my neck practically disappeared.  IV Rocephin was added in March and I've been on it now for 7-1/2 weeks.  I definitely herxed when I started the oral antibiotics but never felt I did with the Rocephin other than feeling even more fatigued.  about a week or two ago, the neck pain started to return and now at times it's even worse than it was before I started treatment.  Could this possibly be a herx from the Rocephin?

Possibly. Mine was more neuro herxing on Rocephin - brain fog, fatigue, STM loss, and some physical but most definitely more neuro (still on it and still herxing cyclically), but just added Doxy to my regime and it's Herxville again - even worse because I'm still on the Rocephin.

Lala429, The brain fog and neuro issues have been consistently bad for so long it's hard to determine if it's any worse or not. At this point, I don't think so.

How long have you been on Rocephin? Sorry you're dealing with all of the herxing b.s. but hopefully it's doing some good.

Been on Rocephin since 2/25/09. LLMD hopes to keep me on in 6-12 months, but my CD 57 went DOWN from a 19 in January to a 16 in April so she put me on the Doxy. So now the herxing is awful, but today I actually noticed that it was not quite as bad. My neuro issues definitely got exacerbated by the Rocephin. My very first infusion was at the hospital and I had to stay like an extra 2 hours because I could hardly walk. They didn't want me to leave but my mom drove me home. And I felt so vulnerable in the hospital and my brain wasn't working right and I just wanted to get the heck out of there. Before the doxy, the herxes are cyclical - every other week or so the neuro gets bad to the point where I look drunk - I stumble, can't find the right words, stutter, and have some nasty Lyme rage.

So I'm getting ready to head out and go do something for ME. Getting my hair cut and colored - haven't done it since January. It's going to wear me out, but having it shorter will make it easier to take care of and I need to do something for me.

Laura, I totally understand what you're going through because I suffer from all of the same symptoms. I also pushed myself to go get my hair cut and colored for the first time since January. lol Feel better. Valerie
