could the answer come from pigs?

i was talking to my neightbor, she told me that  pigs are the only anamil that doesnt get lyme disease. anyone else hear of this? if this is ture then maybe as pigs are to close in makeup to humans they should be doing recerch into this to  find  us a cure. its just a thought on my part,  but i also belive in leaven no stone untured.

I do not know anything about lyme disease in pigs, so I cannot comment about this. If your neighbor is correct, then I hope the info can somehow be used for research to benefit mankind.

However, I have read that when an infected tick feeds on a "blue bellied" lizard or "fence" lizard, the blood of the lizard is able to "clean up" the lyme in the tick and the tick no longer transmits the disease-----at least until it feeds on something else that contains the disease organisms again. I have not seen any scientific papers /research looking into how this knowledge may help find a cure for humans. It just makes me think that we should all have a lot of lizards around our yards to clean up the ticks!! LOL Best wishes to all. bablymers mom

This is especially interesting as pigs have an anatomy most like humans, more than any other animal. D

Maybe I got my Lyme from a lizard. They're all over the back yard and it appears to be "mating season".
