How long are you supposed to be on ABX? How many do you take at once?

It looks like this post got lost in the shuffle.

1-How long have you been on your current regimen?

Just started and as you know, it didn't go well, LOL.

2- What is your regimen?

Biaxin- 250mg 2x's a day
Mepron- 1/2 tsp 2x's a day
Nystatin- 1 pill 4x's a day
Probiotics- 2 pills 2x's a day
B-12 shot 3cc's once a week
And a bunch of other supplements too many to name.

As you know, this did not work out for me so I will be starting on just one medicine at a time
after my birthday on Thursday:)

And the last two questions I can't answer yet but I do know that people that have chronic Lyme should be on a regimen for at least 6 months or longer. It is very tricky. I guess it's kind of like anti-depressants or ADHD meds where you have to try it out to see which one works best.

Hi Hopingtofindcure, I was officially diagnosed in February after being sick for many years.

My llmd started me on Mepron, Zithro, Mino, Art and a bunch of supplements right away and in March IV Rocephin was added.

I was initially told I would need a minimum of six months of IV's but after three months have not seen as much improvement as hoped for. During my appointment last week, my doctor told me I might need a year more of the IV Rocephin.

I'm not sure but I think I remember reading that a person should be treated with antibiotics for as long as symptoms remain. Once all symptoms are gone, then treat for another three months. At that point, or earlier, switch to a herbal protocol to support the immune system and keep those buggers at bay.

Everything about this darn disease is tricky and it seems as if everyone is affected differently and responds differently to treatment. Definitely trial and error which can be very frustrating.

I hope whatever treatment protocol you're on is working and you're healing.
