We are eagerly awaiting my daughter's lab results from Igenex - but wondered one of her main symptom is chronic swollen lymph glands (in her throat) every time we go to her pediatrician he's like "oh you just bought yourself some antibiotics with that" no matter what other symptoms she has going on this seems to be constant. The antibiotics (usually a Z-pac) will take them down for few days and then swollen again.
Just wondered if anyone else had this or not. Out of the others in our house with Lyme we haven't had this symptom so it is new to me. Thanks - you guys are always my "experts"!!!
Blessings to all,
Leah

Ashley,
Yes, I have this problem constantly. It seems to get worse when I have a herx. It is very uncomfortable and I always feel like I'm getting the flu when they flare up.
I hope you and your family get better soon.

Hi Ashley,
I live with the chronic swollen lymph glands as well - have since I was a young girl.
I have been told by regular gp's that it was my Chronic/acute Epstein-Barr that was keeping it going.
Now, I have several different dxes, but I know now, that it's because of the Lyme & co's.
Hope you find definite answers soon.

I also frequently feel like I'm either getting the flu or getting over the flu. Swollen glands in my neck have been one of my problems from the beginning. As the disease progressed, it started to effect the glands under my arms also. Sometimes, I can barely pick my arms up.
I'm sorry your daughter and other family members are sick and hope you get well soon.

Scorpio,
They swell under my arms as well and it is hard for me to put my arm all the way down by my side. I had it for a good two months straight at one time. Now, it comes and goes but I have it every month.

Back in the 80's when I think this all started (might be even earlier) I had swollen glands in my neck and underarms. None of the doctors that I pointed this out to seemed to even care. I wasn't at the doctor for that reason, but you think they would at least take an interest. It wasn't until recently when I was at my GP for my yearly pap and mentioned it to her that someone was finally concerned. She said well you're getting a mamo so if it's anything it should show up there. That was it. And she's a doctor that I actually like and have some respect for!

KO,
Was everything okay? I was thinking about
bringing this up to my gyno when I go back in. It seems to bother my left breast too when the glands swell. I am a little concerned about
that.

CajanGrl, Everything was OK with my mamo, but I still get swollen glands in my underarms from time to time along with my neck. I think if the doctors can't explain it or give you a medication for it, then they ignore it completely!

When I was bitten in June 2005, that whole summer I kept feelin like I was catching something and my glands at my throat would swell, up until August when the nodes on the sides of my neck swelled so much that pain pills, muscle relaxers and ultrasound treatments did nothing for the pain. After two weeks of the intense pain, as it finally began to subside, I felt like I was getting ill all over again. I improved with the 10 days of doxycycline, but apparently it just went dormant until March 2009. I have just been through 3 months of abx, the last one IV. I was feeling much better, but still ever so slight swelling in the nodes on sides of neck. And I can't believe this, but I was just bit again during the night, so went back to Dr. and on doxycycline again.

Turqouise,
I posted to you about
you being bit again in the other thread. That's just insane!
Maybe the swollen glands are just a part of Lyme. It does list it as a symptom. I think it's more a co-infection though since I run fever everytime they swell. I've actually been having the swollen Lymph Nodes off and on for a few yearsnow and my primary family doctor always thought it was some sort of weird flu.
