HOly Crap, i'm freaked out that i might have parkisons

the more and more i think about it, i've developed a shaky thumb on my right hand, its like a muscle spasm on my palm which makes my thumb twitch here and there, pretty much non stop all day, espically when laying down. and recently i've had the symptom of hard to speak or talking very light. i'm freaking out, i have so many symptoms of everything. i will sound like a freak when i go to the doctor.. he might as well put me in the mental house..

no, i'm not going to a lyme doc yet, i'm just going to a reg doc on monday to get tested through the WB test first, i'm seriously wanting to do a mri and cat scan also.. i have some facial skin problems also, my right thumb twtiches, like i said the last couple of days, its hard to walk a decent pace or even it seems like it takes a while to talk, i'm talking softly.. this is wierd, am i going crazy or what!!

yeah, i heard about the WB test having alot of false negatives.. i'm the type of person though, i will not leave the doc office without something. i have a ton of info for every doc i see, most think i'm overeacting, which drives me crazy, but this time we are moving foward with this, and i'm going to figure whatever i have out. i'll even have him set me up with a nero to check for parkisons.. i don't really care, i had a small bruise like circle on my foot, i didn't know if it was a tick bite or a bruise, i just took it as a tick bite.. it could've been a bruise or another bug bite, don't really know.. i'm just freaking out here..

I understand your panick...when you start twitching and spasming it feels so weird. I get twitching in my face so bad and at times my face feels like it does not want to move. When this happens I look in the mirror to make sure I can still move my face.

I have had episodes where I go completely numb and my heart starts beating really fast. When this happens I feel disconnected. I was completely convinced that I had some terminal illness that was going to kill me.

After I had my mri and blood work the only thing that was positive for me was Lyme...Yes it is hard to believe that this can cause all this horrible symptoms, but it does. It is so easy to feel like there is more to it...I still sometime worry did they give me the correct diagnosis. When I feel like this I just look at my positive WB test and I know the lyme is making me sick.

Once you get all the testing done you are going to feel relieved....Just knowing what you are battling helps mentally.

Hang in there and get the testing as soon as you can. Also, go and see a llmd.

I had whole body shaking for 10 days a couple summers ago, was really strange and freaked me out too. But then it just stopped on its own. This was prior to my Lyme diagnosis when I still didn't know what was going on. The doctor sent me for an MRI and EEG (measures brain waves, detects seizure disorders) and both were normal. Now that I know I have Lyme, it doesn't seem so outlandish that I would have such strange things going on, but I sure was freaked out at the time. Good luck at your doctor's appointment coming up. I hope the test tells you something informative...I had 2 WB tests that were negative; it was only after my gut decided to stop working (known Lyme symptom) that I finally got a CDC positive on the Lyme WB.

^^^thanks. i'm in the not knowing phase of what is going on with me, i'm just going off of a circle type bruise with a clear center after i found a tick crawling around on me 5 days earlier. So i went to the doc and gave me 3 weeks of doxy, and the meds are making it worse. after the ELISA screening and if it comes back neg. I don't really have the money for a LLMD right now. the one everyone goes to here is in Springfield MO and is 650 just for the first visit. i'm just saying if i do the blood work mri and cat scan and it comes back normal. It will look like i'm crazy!!! i'm this close to losing my job, my G/F and other friends are thinking i'm losing my mind.. this is nuts!!! it seriously feels like i'm 70 years old, i mean my 80 year grandma gets around better than me.. its really sad..

if you lived within a couple hundered miles i would come see.. no one around here really has this disease expect for one friend, but he is basically cured for the most part.. i don't bother him much, because who really wants to hear about something they had that could bring back some bad memories.

the twitching was basically the last straw for me to seek medical proof of what is happening with me.. i was going to blow everything off and just continue doxy until i ran out and possibly ask for another 3 weeks of treatment, but i need some proof of what is happening with me. My mind needs to rest regardless of the outcome, i need it!!

i thought about posting a youtube video of the shakes and twitching to show everyone...

do you take and sedatives? like Valium before bed or do you just wing it? i started to take some Valium but i don't think my body likes it, it works great for going to sleep, but i wake up anxious within 4 hrs

ajmes i have the same thing in my right thumb. and it is a lil scary when you dont knwo the reson why. i was tested only after i had a MRI. showing i had lesions on my brain. plus my dog has lyme. so i asked to be tested and sure enough it came back IgM positive. it took about 3 weeks b4 i got my test report back from my Dr. and the MRI report took a few days to get back. if you do have 1 tho, make sure you get a copy of the dic along with the writen report.

i found out my male had lyme when i did his bi yearly heartworm test. found out the test covers 3 things now. i am sure we both got infected around 2000 to 2002. also dogs are a lot more able to fight it then we are, they have better anitbodies to fight with. he was treated for 1 month then tested again 3 months later. he still tested posivite but it was low. vet stated his anitbodies was fight it off now.

i love my babies to the point ticks or no ticks i will not give them up or kick them out..lol
just use a good replent for them. my female who is almost 3yrs old now, has never had a flie or tick on her.

james have you found the list with all the sx of lyme? if you have a printer you can print it off and check all you have to take to your Dr. appointment so you dont foreget anything. this is what i did. it helps

James - You are possibly having a reaction to the doxy you're on. It definitely makes my thumb twitch and it is really a scary symptom...

Even if one has something like Parkinson's, which folks say is a long road diagnosing, if there is anyway you could not worry so much about it, you'd be that much ahead of the game.

I am a worrier just like you. I know that worry is worse than any disease we could imagine.

We're you able to give magnesium a try. It's good for cognitive and twitching and heart issues according to Dr. B's guidelines.

Dr. B has healed people of chronic Lyme and he's had it himself. He treated many in what folks claim are the endemic regions (New York).

Let me say one more thing as I think everyone here will agree.

Lyme disease treatment is no walk in the park.

Some say treat the co-infections first (particularly in regions where they are known to be prevalent).

First you need to know though, is this Lyme or something else?

Knowing what you got will help you start to relax and begin coping so you can start healing.

Please don't worry too much until you know what you got.

Cognitive behavioral therapy can help some. CBT works on everyone as we all naturally thinks the worst. And the worst is not always the case. And then, if by chance we find out the worst, but we know there's a chance we will heal anyways, we think, but no one else has or only one person has beat those odds. Why can't we be the ones to beat those odds? CBT challenges negative feelings and thoughts. It's worth trying! It really works.

So the next time you think the worst without knowing for sure, just "don't go there". Distract yourself with what you love. Nature. Even if it's pictures on the Internet of the Grand Canyon right now. Or if it's just gazing out your bedroom window. Distract yourself from those thoughts and feelings.

You can do this James. And you will get well. Keep the faith. Keep praying.

i have slept pretty good the last 2 days, usually i'm at the crack of dawn. but i've been able to relax a little better.. maybe because i know i have a doc appointment and we are going to get to the bottom of this.

i saw dr. C was in springfield and in fact i do have lyme i will be making a appointment with him soon after.

it is just scary, everyone knows michael j fox started with a twitch one day and thought it was wierd, same thing here.. who knows if he started treatment the next day or was any kind of treatment for something else.

i started taken mens health one a day vitamins. but yesterday i went to KFC and loaded my system with chicken which has alot of magnesium. and actually my thumb didn't really twitch so bad after a couple of hrs of eating the chicken. who knows. but after waking up today, it has started up again.

i'm a very positive person who sees a future usually and never complains about the small things. before this has taken me over, i haven't been to the doc prolly since 2003 for a fever i had then, i haven't been sick since then.. now i'm going to the doc every 2 weeks.. but hey, regardless of what people think around me, i'm not crazy, i'm just cautious.

as far as the detox baths, i might need to try just to do the shower style detox, where i'm living we only have stand up showers.
