I talked to shawm tonight, yesterday the skin on her wrist split. she has had this issues for some time now. but yesterdays issues was the worst by far, her hubby had to clean the celining. she is doing 2 different types of checmo. 1 is daily at home and the other is 3x wk at the hospital. they didnt give her any timelines. so she belives this will go on for some time yet.

she did manage to walk outside for a lil bit today. we talked about 20 mins. it was all either of us could handle. we sure looked good standing in the middle of the road chating away. sad thing is neither one of us could make it to the others yard.

does anyone else have or know of someone whoes skins just splits open? this scared me. and she sad part of it was. she was just brushing her hair back. not doing shots.

if anyone has any info on tips to help her plz help me to help her.

This is shocking RD!
I never have heard of this extreme. Well my dad was a mail man and his finger skin would split from the dryness of the mail paper. So it could be that her skins moisture barrier has been compromised and she has no moisture in her skin.

she is also diabetic, so it has some to do with it, then you add in the chemo and lyme and whamm. her skin is paper thin. but this the first time it split on its own, without a shot or anything. just by the movement of her wrist.

And it hit the ceiling? My god. I feel for her thank god she has a saint of a husband. I take care of my grandmother so i know what kind of person it takes to be the one to clean things up. She is lucky for that. I hope is is over soon and something good comes through.

when i walked up to her i told her i had to give her a hug from the many in here who are praying for her, she almost cried. then she told me what happened. that she called her mom to take her to the ER, she had to have 2 or 3 stiches. i told her to call me next time as i am closer to her and can get her to the ER a lot faster.
she then said your not a monring preson. well i'm not. but i would get up at anytime no matter what to help my friends. i can always sleep later. lol

i am so worried about her tho. i wish there was something i could do for her.
and CG i will be sure to tell her tomorrow.

OMG!  That's absolutely terrible.  I hope Shawn starts to get some relief soon.  Sending both of you lots of positive thoughts and prayers.  She is very fortunate to have you as a friend.

That must have been painful as well as terrifying! Hopefully they can find something to help make sure that doesn't happen again!

I'll be praying even harder now!

thank you scorpio and Nicky, i agree its both terribley terrifyingto have your skin split like that. i just pray along with you that it can be stoped as this is very dangeris. i also have you in my prayers as well.

I work with elderly residents with paper thin skin, but this sounds different and scary.  Sending healing thoughts and prayers to both of you.
